Best upgrade to my Dell Inspiron 3880 Desktop
This has significantly improved the performance of my Dell Inspiron 3880. Earlier it took about 90-100 seconds to boot and approximately half of that to shut down. Now after installation of SSD booting time has came down to 10-12 seconds. Also multitasking has been became effortlessly smooth. Highly recommended to boost the performance.

Good
I bought it for 3.1k and this one gave life to my i3 laptop. I was lagging before like I need to wait for 5mins to boot. Now after replacing this SSD . It’s 15 seconds . This product is worth the money. I will update this review if I face any issues. Until this this is working great! I downgraded from win11 to win10 which Is also a reason for the speed

Good but not the best
I was thrilled to receive this NVMe SSD today. I installed it in slot 2 of my laptop as soon as I received it. The first issue was data migration; I already had a 1TB Samsung Evo installed in slot 1, but Samsung Magician wouldn’t help me migrate data from the Samsung SSD to the WD SSD. So, after searching the WD website, they suggested using Acronis True Image. However, that didn’t work either; it was just a waste of time. I tried twice, but nothing happened. I had to use another disk cloning software like AOMEI Backupper, which worked flawlessly for data migration. After the data migration, I activated the SSD from the Partition Manager. I checked the temperature, as you can see in the picture. The temperature and read-write speeds are the same as the Samsung Evo series, and there is also a 5-year warranty. Setting aside the data migration part (which you can manage with third-party software), this is a great money-saver compared to big brands.

I picked up the WD Blue SN5100 1TB as a storage upgrade for my gaming PC, and it’s been excellent so far. A few things that stand out:Installation: Super easy if you’ve got an open M.2 slot. Just screw it in, boot up, and Windows recognized it immediately. No extra drivers needed.Speed: Advertised read speeds are up to 7,100MB/s, and in real-world use it’s not far off. Large file transfers are lightning fast, and games that used to take 30–40 seconds to load now pop up in under 10. It’s not just numbers you really feel the difference.Thermals: It runs warm under heavy load, like most Gen 4 NVMe drives, so I’d recommend making sure your motherboard’s heatsink is on it. With that in place, temps stay in the safe range.Noise & Power: Completely silent (as expected from an SSD), and it doesn’t draw much power. Great for laptops as well as desktops.Value: For the price, getting Gen 4 speeds at this capacity is a great deal. WD also has a solid reputation for reliability, which was a big factor in my choice.Bottom line: If you want a drive that installs easily, delivers fast everyday performance (especially for booting, gaming, or creative workloads), and doesn’t break the bank, the SN5100 is a strong pick.

Best performance upgrade for laptop
I bought this for my Lenovo laptop and i must say this is one of the best and cheapest upgrades that can be done on a laptop or desktop. I know a lot of people will have questions about SSD’s. So i will try to explain things a bit. There are basically 3 types of SSD- 2.5 inch SATA (SATA Interface)- M2 – MSATA- M2 – NVMEBut what’s the difference ?Now you might have noticed i have written M2 type two times. That’s the catch. They look similar but perform entirely differently. MSATA sticks uses the same communication channels as the 2.5 inch SATA drive. The maximum speeds that can be attained on MSATA is around 550 MBPS.But in NVME you can get close to 2000MBPS or even as high as 3000 MBPS. Many people are unaware of this factor and end up buying M2 MSATA or 2.5″ Sata SSDs. You should always go for a NVME based one, if your Motherboard supports it. NVME works on actual PCIE bus and not SATA lines. WD Blue series also comes in 3 variants mentioned above. The MSATA and NVME sticks looks very similar, except that MSATA has 2 cuts (M key) and NVME has only 1(b key). So before you buy just check your M2 slot how it looks. If it has only 1 cut, it must support NVME, go for the NVME variant.Performance and disk sizeI bought the 500 GB variant and what i get is 3500 MBPS Read and 2400 MBPS Write for Sequential read. How SSDs make the system fast? Many people follow the logic that upgrading RAM is the best way to upgrade your system. But No. If you replace your hard disk, it can actually act as RAM (Page file or SWAP) as well as your internal memory. A lot of new laptops with SSD come nowadays with just 4GB RAM. Still they are fast. Now, how it works ? SSD comes with a considerable amount of transfer speed, especially for small files. Hard disks are really really slow when it comes to small tiny files, average 4K read speeds of hard disks are 3 or 4 MBPS, whole for SSD its 200 to 300 MBPS.Which is like a 100 times faster. Most of the system operations read/write small files, which makes harddisks sluggish. Forget about the 1800 MBPS Sequential speed for large files. That’s yet another factor.Which size to choose ?I would highly recommend you to go for 512 or 1 TB as it has double Write speeds of 250 GB version. How to install ?It’s very easy. But be careful, use a rubber gloves to prevent ESD. Slide in the Stick to the slot. It will rest at a 30 degree angle to the board. Now you need to insert the screws to fix it in right position. Before you buy.. Make sure that your board supports NVME. Check the user manual. Also check the slot and see it has only 1 cut. Not twoHow much is the real world results ?I use this on my Lenovo laptop. My Windows OS which used to take 2 minute to boot now takes 10 seconds. This much boost is obtained because my Desktop is i7 and can process too much data. So if you have a good processor you also can obtain similar results.I know my review was bit lengthy, but i hope you found it helpful!!

My personal experience with this drive can be characterized as uneventful, and that’s a good thing. I haven’t run into any issues. I installed multiple operating systems and the drive took them. Nice and quick, didn’t get overly warm. There has been no moment where I even thought about the drive other than “nice, that was quick”. It works quietly and competently in the background just doing its job effectively. No annoying lights, no weird labels screaming “uber game x9000”. Just a quiet unassuming NVMe drive ready to go to work. The price listed seemed fair, and it worked on Linux/Android/Windows, so compatibility is likely fine as NVMe is a fairly well defined standard.TL;DR, I don’t have anything bad to say about this drive at this point. I’ll edit this review if that changes at any point, but WD has a decent reputation so I don’t anticipate there will be major issues.

NVMe drives are so cool. Literally the size of a stick of gum, but pack so much storage and speed. Install takes 5 minutes. Slide it in the slot on your MB, tighten the hold down screw. Boot Windows and initialize the drive from the drive manager. Assign the drive a drive letter and give it a name and you’re good to go. I installed this one as secondary storage to my 2TB Western Digital Black NVMe drive which has a faster 7.3GB/s read speed. You can see from the screen shot, that while transferring a large file block from the Black drive to this Blue drive it averages around 1230MB/s. Blazing fast, but no where near what the drives advertise. This could be mother board related or some other factor could be at play, but it’s still very very fast and was a super easy install. I’ve always had good reliability from Western Digital drives and can easily recommend this one.

I have installed this as a secondary drive alongside a Kioxia 512GB M.2 2230 PCIe NVMe Gen3 x4 SSD (KBG40ZNS512G) in an “old” Dell G7 7700 (Intel i7-10750H, RTX 2070, 32GB DDR4, Windows 11 Home) laptop. I had to acquire a mounting kit for the second NVMe slot as Dell, in their infinite “wisdom” (nickel-and-diming BS), saw fit not to include one. Watch for that sort of thing if you are thinking of installing this drive (or any other) as a secondary drive in a laptop. The drive is now housing a collection of actively developed Unity projects (with lightmapping that benefits from a situationally superior denoising method that only runs on older Nvidia GPUs, hence the older laptop), so it is absolutely getting a workout and I am totally happy with the performance for this use case.A large number of variables feed into SSD performance benchmarks which means they usually aren’t very meaningfully comparable across different system configurations. So consider the peformance results I have attached to this review with that in mind. They merely represent what a freshly installed drive in my particular laptop in my particular software environment is capable of. All I personally care about is performance when interacting with and managing Unity projects and in that context at least I consider this drive to be an excellent addition to the system.

Excellent product at excellent price
Quality: Build quality is good. 1TB variant Comes with 600 TBW which should be enough for non content creator users.Performance: Works as advertised. About 5k read/write (depending on the variant you are getting). Only problem is that the ASIC controller stays at 60 degrees + all the time even when idle. Its normal since the controller is a high performance one to give DRAM like performance despite being non DRAM SSD. But consider a heatsink, thermal pasteCompatibility: Will work with any system as long as the slots match. SSDs are backward compatible. So depending upon the PCIE generation, speeds will vary.Ease of installation: Easy to install. Comes with a holding screw.Storage capacity: With 1TB, you get about 930 GB spaceFit: As long as you have the correct M.2 slot, it will fit.

I have always had great results with WD Hardrives so when I began using m.2 SSD in my build this was a consideration as a choice. The price and reliability made this a no brainer.

Smooth on Acer nitro 5 an515-52-59fd
Work super, increased speed a lot, bought for 3300 inr.I have Acer nitro 5 an515-52-59fd, which has m.2 nvme gen 3 slot, I bought this gen 4 as a future measure, and it’s working fantastic.Getting read and write speed around 3500mb/s.I did install ram as well, my system had SKhynix 8gb ram 2400mhz cl17 already, so I added another crucial 8gb 2400mhz cl17 ram, which give dual channel power to my laptop.Overall it’s working smooth no issue reported, also I’ve removed the existing hdd to make external hdd for laptop power saving purpose.
