Was looking for a dongle for connecting my PC to mobile Hotspot. Found out from reviews that other tplink dongles don’t work for mobile Hotspot. So ordered this one. just wanted to say… works on linux
just wanted to clarify that this (mostly) WORKS on linux.all the instructions for using this on linux are well documented on a github repo. the source code is also available there. the driver gets auto rebuilt everytime you upgrade the kernel (thanks dkms).my only complaint would be that whereas a built in wifi adaptor would show full signal strength, this only shows half the signal strength!!!but this dlink dwa131 works on linux. and i am thankful for that.

Used at multiple instances. Really good product. Easy after sales service, at least in major cities.The only demerit is that drivers are needed to download and install, unlike many others, where Windows 10 or 11 installs drivers automatically.

Missing Driver CD, security seal was broken, product’s original barcode was hidden with some other barcode and was damaged.Edited: I got drivers by logging a service request to the company. Device is super and working fine after 6months of use. Money is worth.

I am using this device with my Wireless N300 ADSL 2+ Router. My inbuilt laptop wifi adapter used to show the wifi speed as 120Mbps. Now using this D-Link DWA-131 Wireless N Nano USB Adapter, I am getting 300Mbps wifi speed. Its easy to install. Remember, you’ll only get the desired speed of 300Mbs, if your Modem/Router is capable of that speed. It is better for the machines which doesn’t have wifi on board connection. Better performance. Upto 15-20fts works smoothly w/o obstacles. More than 20fts gets lower signal strength. But overall, it suffies the purpose of wireless network.

I use Windows 10, my laptop does not have CD drive. I was little apprehensive initially, but thought of taking a chance after reading reviews that, the driver can be downloaded and installed. There were also some reviews that the device got recognized by the system, as soon as it was connected and no installation was needed.When I tried to connect the device, it did not get recognized. I had to finally download the driver and install it. Hardly any configurations needed. Its giving good speed as well. So far I am happy with this product. It has really helped free my laptop from ethernet cable.

Fine for those who actually need it
My laptop’s WiFi card malfunctioned so my technician suggested me to buy this. Works well, got no problem. If your work is just to do browsing, office work, studies, and anything else which doesn’t require a lot of bandwidth, this is a good choice instead of buying a new WiFi card.

It did not work on plug and play basis. I downloaded the driver from D Link website and installed. It is slow on USB 2.0 port – max speed of 10 Mbps. But on USB 3.0 it reached the maximum speed of 60 Mbps of my fibernet consistently. Happy with the product.

I don’t know why the desktop PCs still don’t have inbuilt wifi, bluetooth and microphone which are very essential these days.. Anyway this masterpiece from DLink is the perfect solution for Wifi adapter. Supports Windows 10. Checked in version 1909 which is the latest version of Win10. Much better than TPLink aur local adapters which sometimes is not detected in Windows 10. I am using broadband having download and upload speed of 60Mbps. At a distance of 12 feet with two walls falling in between, speed I got was 56Mbps download and 52Mbps upload with a ping of 3 which I would say is great.

Amazing product !!. A perfect fit for home-based internet. Before buying this wifi receiver I’d bought 2 other unknown manufacturers which failed to work. One had an issue with uploading and the other got disconnected every one hour. Never go for cheaper ones they always come with some defects. I ordered this product for my desktop PC which doesn’t have WiFi.It was very easy to use, you get 1 CD of driver with it, if you don have CD-ROM, you can also download from D-Link website.adapter is very small which you can keep it plugged as of wireless mouse.When I bought it was cheap, Rs.599, but now it is Rs.799, kind of unfair behavior of seller, I guess.

The adapter is working good after installation and there is no objections on that part. Howeve, installing the driver software from a CD is quite a painful as the new systems are not equipped with CD player. DLink can think of preloaded driver in the wifi adaptet itself so it work in plug n play mode.

It is a nice product having good connectivity with my D-Link ASDL router. Signal strength and speed is also fine. But would like to mention one thing. Which is , it not at all a plug and play device . Al least not in Windows 7 system. I have to do some research and made some configuration change (creating a new wireless network) to after installing the driver and then only it works. However once it is installed it works perfectly fine.

Signal is strong e asy to use after installation do not miss the cd in the box for first time installation and after installation restart ur pc or laptop and if after that also if device dont work then restart the wifi driver in the manage driver’s section it will work and very imp if asked for directX installation wile driver installation plz. Install other wise it will not work.

Pros-1- Easy to install – install the software with the CD included in the box2-great speeds – this wifi adapter supports speeds upto 300mbps and i found that out to be correct. my college wifi runs faster than it used to work on my stock laptop adapterCons-1-disconnects easily – you should careful with your hand or it may touch the adapter accidently and it disconnects. Its very annoying2-not as compactOverall great value for money.

jam your ethernet wire into your router or modem or yourself and wheel your rgb gaming pc around the house. wait you need a power supply.Anyway, its a great product and it isnt from our friendly neighbour country so use it to your heart’s content with a guilt free conscience. it isnt plug and play but everything isnt as easy as popping pills now is it. i pretty much leave it plugged it and it hasnt dies on me yet. go nuts

i started facing signals drops and wifi disconnections, got high ping while gaming at the first day. but after googling the problem and turning off adaptivity option in driver settings, it is working like a charm.

First install drivers
After a bit of hunting for the drivers, (found on the US site via a google search) it works quite smoothly. Note that the green light on the dongle is a key indicator of physical functionality and that it comes on only after the driver is installed. Tiny li’l thing, don’t lose it.Just got it today..working fine as of now. Came highly recommended from a tech friend, hence the purchase..lets see how this goes long term.

The adapter is working good after installation and there is no objections on that part. Howeve, installing the driver software from a CD is quite a painful as the new systems are not equipped with CD player. DLink can think of preloaded driver in the wifi adaptet itself so it work in plug n play mode.

I had been struggling with network issues since a very long time. After I switched from Windows 7 to 10 on my laptop, my earlier wifi adapter (iball) stopped displaying our home wifi network. However, all other devices were working fine with the same network. So, the problem was surely not with our network ! We called some technicians. They tried several other wifi adapters. Neither of them resolved the issue. So, they tried to convince us that there was some problem with my HP laptop ( 2014 model )and asked me to either get the Wifi card inside my laptop replaced or re-install the Windows but I wasn’t convinced and decided to try out a new Wifi adapter instead. It resolved all the issues and infact, works much better than my previous iball adapter ! This was also easy to install . I simply followed the instructions provided in the CD carefully. The best part is that , with this new wifi adapter earlier inaccessible areas have turned accessible. In love with this Tiny & Cute Product !

The speed is better than I expected. If the CD option is not working for you. Please use online setup files by mentioning the name of dlink w series which you purchase. It works fine. Go for it

Instalation option is worst
Not all computers come with DVD players now a days so change the way you provide the driver. Even when downloading from their website took more than an hour for a 100mbps speed internet connection for a driver that was just 100mb size. Tried different browser and computer and it did not cross 16kpbs speed. Later after installing it worked fine.

I have my router and dongle at different floors .Bought the TP LINK dongle initialy due to lower cost . But it was simply not working at my second floor due to range issues ( Working fine at first floor)Then bought the D Link one . Its working perfectly everywhere with high speeds.So dont always select stuff based on its cost !!

Good product but disconnects sometimes
It’s a good product , writing this review after using it for more than a month , works fine , easy to install , driver CD included , only thing i noticed is that sometimes it gets disconnected on it’s own and you have to un plug and then again re plug it to make it work , it only happens when you are downloading some huge file for example from torrent ( it happens when doing some very extensive work over internet ) so i guess it gets over heated and gets disconnected , for day to day work it doesn’t get disconnected , it’s fine VFM product .

The wify router being at one end of the house and my study at other end, the signal was too feeble to be received by my earlier adapter. Now since I am using D-Link DWA-131 Nano adapter, no problems in working with my PC. Easy to install & use.

Signal Strength Isn’t Too Bad, Works on Linux
Works as advertised. The signal strength isn’t that great, but it’s usable for my use-case. But most importantly, it runs flawlessly on Linux; no tacky nineties style mini-CD’s to install drivers from, just works on Ubuntu 18.04+. Has a Realtek N USBA A chip, if anyone wanted to know.
