Before you buy…
It works great, no problem. But i found later that if you don’t have a m2 slot and you want this to be your boot drive, the mx model is a better option, as that would be faster.

Low performance but excellent value for money SSD
+ This is a low performance value for money SSD as long as it only costs ₹2300 for 500GB+ Peak write performance in real world is around 350 MB/s+ Sustained write performance (100GB+ of large files like 4k movies) is only around 60 MB/s+ Read performance is great at 350 to 500 MB/s+ I saw many screenshots claiming 400+ MB/s of write speeds but please do understand that those speeds will not be sustained for long writes like 50 or 100+ GB of files. I can say this after working with 2 500GB and 2 250GB drives for over a month copying large files.+ But as I said, considering the price this drive is an excellent value for money, best use case for this will be archiving data, external disk drive, or as a substitute for pen drives.+ Not suitable for boot drive/OS drive or as main drive for installing programs and games in high performance systems

Awesome price and experience with crucial 500
Very small and light weight but efficient bought 500GB SSD yes 500GB at just rs 1800+ and it approx 9 month it working with no complain. Decided to buy another in this year if price will decrease.

Perfect ssd for internal and external use
Good SSD i used as a external usb ssd using 3.0 sata to usb cable and it gave me 300-500MB transfer speed, it may sure increase performance on internal uses.

A very affordable product from a reliable brand.
I like Crucial products.This 2.5″ SATA III BX500 480GB cost me about ₹3.4k but I observed that it goes below ₹3k. If you get BX500 480GB at less than ₹3k then it becomes value for money product. Otherwise its cheap because its the OLD model SSD from Crucial. The latest model costs around ₹4k-₹5k the MX500 model. I only find a difference in total available storage around 50-60GB (most probably), total TBW (endurance) higher TBW in MX500 series than BX500 and the M.2 SATA III form factor.If you have a very old laptop with HDD and want to make that faster then must buy BX500 2.5″ SATA SSD.If you need SSD for frequent storage (i.e. data write) and don’t have a NVMe support then go for MX500 2.5″ form factor (in place of HDD) or M.2 SATA form factor (if M.2 SATA slot is available and also check for maximum size of supported drive).If you have an NVMe support and have ₹4k budget then go for Crucial P2 or P5 SSDs which is far superior than any SATA SSDs.Still confused? Read carefully.Have an HDD then don’t worry, it will support SATA SSDs.Have an M.2 slot then check if it’s SATA or NVMe, and then buy.

After a 3 years of use working flawless
After a 3 years of use, I find it very much perfect. No issue created since I installed it in my old laptop. It gave new life to my Dell laptop.Write read and boot up time increased since I replaced it with my HDD.I SUGGEST YOU TO GO FOR ATLEAST 1TB.

Perfect choice on a budget.
I bought it 12 months ago & installed it on a sata 3 port on my motherboard. The speed are 540 for read and 510 for write on crystal disk mark. The real life file transfers are not that fast always ( due to HDD speeds being slow). Boot speeds are amazing though ( <20 sec on Windows 11).Using this i was able to comfortably play GTA 5 on intel HD 2500, browser activity is also very fast. This SSD is an absolute no brainer for HDD users but do remember if you only have one sata 3 port and you plug your HDD into the sata 2 port like i have then HDD will become even more slow if you boot from it.Enable Momentum Cache to increase speeds uptp 4GBps as it uses your computer memory as D-Ram. Also they warn against using it on devices with no battery backup.
