It works better than expected!
Good one. 1.36TB free for high speed data transfer. This WD Elements HD usually meets around 60-90Mbps with USB 2.0 and 100-140Mbps with USB 3.0 (black and blue ports respectively) on my Windows running HP Core i3 laptop.There is no cloud backup option available for the data stored and no WD software(like WDSecurity) supports this WD Elements HDD. These option are available for premium WD products only. So you have to believe yourself and the device completely for the data stored inside―woa nothing to worry, be sure at the platform you connect this and be safe from threats and virus programs.Light weight and pocket sized, on the other hand it would break into pieces once if it falls to ground from 1-2mts height. This product can’t survive severe shocks without an air filled cover bag protection.Works great for Haier LED TV and not yet detected on my Redmi Note. Maybe I would need a standard data transfer cable. The quality of cable code comes with the pack is excellent!!High speed delivery and recieved a brand new original WD product.Overall I am really satisfied with this product and I recommend this one for everyone.UPDATE: “No change in data transfer speed even after six months use. Still as good as received. Hats off Western Digitals” 👍🏼👍🏾👍

Have been using it to backup data from my local machine and store some movies and all. The read/write speeds are okay, it’s lightweight and kinda slim, you can’t ask for more really at this price point. The main reason I picked this one was the additional 500 GB it offers as compared to others in the same price segment. The build quality is average nothing sturdy so if you travel a lot and there are chances of rough handling, this might not be the right choice. Otherwise, for casual use, it’s good!

Being a massive data user guy, I have huge inventory of pen drives & portable HDD. This HDD went beyond my expectations when I connected it to USB 3.0 . I once thought that I accidentally got a SSD. But storage was a bummer, just got 1.3 TB out of 1.5 TB I ordered. Removing 1 star just because of storage capacity.

I’m having great experience with this hard drive. I’ve 1.5 TB variant at an affordable price. If we talk about the speed of this hard drive then I’m getting an average transfer speed of 65-70 Mb/s with the help of its USB 3.0 Cablel, which is the best. It comes with the WD Elements software where you can backup your valuable data and recover it whenever you want in case you lost it. I’m satisfied with this hard drive.I’m pretty sure you will also have the same experience with this device.Hope this review will help you guys to make your buying decision.

I’ve been using a WD external 1TB for the last 5 years or so and when I needed another then didn’t want to look outside WD. Very portable, fast file transfer and an essential item, especially to store all my RAW format pictures. Only one small snag is that on MacOS you’ll need to format it with exFAT to be able to both read and write to it on a Mac or Windows based system. Else, it’s only a read only drive. No big deal, the same can be looked up on Google

I faced a problum with this hard disc i reced this pack today after noon after receiving i have connecgted to my computer immmedatly i called the corrier boy several times with in a minutes he not answered the hd not connecting my computer so i have changed the wire with my old hard disc wire so its working the probluem is the wire supplied with the hard disc not working so please send this message to the supplier he will send the wire to me otherwise i have to return this hard disc so that i will get new packet with wire and hard disc hard disc ok working only wire not working please send this message to the supplier

I purchased it for less than ₹3,800.
This is a steal of a deal if you can get this under ₹3800. I bought this 1.5TB for ₹3579 with a few additional discounts in the October sale. The WD apps for locking this HDD with a passcode do not work. After some research, I found out that the WD password only works on the WD passport range and not on their elements range, but I am more than happy that I found this HDD of 1.5TB at this price.

Ssd are too expensive for my pocket especially costing close to 20k or more but a good old external hard drive still beats it cause it does the same thing except it’s a bit slower but with a 3.0 and 3.1 usb it’s petty fast it can also handle large game that’s are above 100gb but again it’s a big slow but it loads better ssd load to fast causing games to crash since ssd run on ram they crash or hang or freeze when overloaded but a external hard drive runs on the drive itself and does not need additional RAM or memory it runs via the fast usb drive system so in my case a hard drive will always win in value

USB port should be Type A 3.1 or Type C. But overall nice produt.
Stroage is actually of 1.36 TB only not 1.50 TB, and drive is light weight and easy to carry, but the connecting port is weird, it should have type A 3.1 or type C port in the drive, thats make the drive more easy to use. It has also a led light indicator. And the speed of data write is nearly 35MB/S, should more.

Loved it from day 1, while moving stuff from hdd to my laptop it gives like 100-120mbps and when transferring stuff from my laptop to hdd it was 70-95mbps(this depend on the system so it will vary for each user). Only thing i had trouble with was that its hard to recover something once u delete it, but if u pay some money u can fix that in some shop so its not a big deal.

Ordered this on freedom sale and got this for only 3600. I was deciding between WD or Seagate but ended up on this as WD is somewhat more reputable than the latter.Now coming onto the HDD it’s as good as it can be , the read write speeds are amazing and touches 100 MBps when copying one big file but slows down when copying multiple smaller file but this is not a fault of HDD so it’s all good. LED notification light is also not that aggressively lit so you can easily work at night in dark. No vibration or any annoying sounds so it’s definitely a plus.One thing I didn’t like that much is the build quality. The plastic used is cheap and flimsy and does not feel sturdy in hand so if it falls down goodbye forever. Plastic quality could have been better.You need to register you Product at WD portal to avail warranty in future so do that as soon as you get it. It provides 2 years warranty instead of 3 years like Seagate so that’s also somewhat off-putting.So overall nice for cheap unimportant data backup but I wouldn’t trust this for important sensitive personal data as build quality is cheap but biggest plus is its affordability in fact go for Seagate or WD they both are good.Well so far so good but if any problem arise in future will update… happy Independence day.

I’m writing this review after my return period.I bought this device on 3rd October from Appario Retail. Its a trusted seller. When I purchased it, there were some offers and the price was dropped to 3799 excluding 10 percent SBI debit card discount. I don’t think it’ll go more cheap. It’s a standard margin.Shipment took some delay but was delivered one day before they promised.Packaging was good. Product was imported from WD’s factory in Thailand. My shipment started it’s delivery from a depot in West Bengal.My HD got no visible damages like scratches. When I checked with Crystal Disk Info, it previously turned on for four times (and less than an hour) which I believe; for factory tests.Test using Crystal Disk Mark showed 120-130 MBps write speed. Actually I got around 85 MBps for large 7zip files. But for smaller files, it’ll reduce up to 20 MBps, which is natural-it depends.When copying large files, it’ll easily heat up as there is no fan or other cooling measures (upto 46 degree Celsius in my case). So give a break while large operations.Usable storage space is around 1.36 GB after system reserve. One may alter it with any partition software.There is no hardware encryption in Elements series. You can manually encrypt your sensitive files to overcome this demerit. Also comparing with Passport series, this one is less glamorous. But the cost will compensate it.Additionally, this one is really light weight and simple, so don’t hesitate to buy a standard pouch. It’ll worth.I registered my HD in Western Digital website. They verified the Serial Number and ensured a 2 Year warranty in a reply mail.I’ll update if any complaints occur in future.*pics enclosed

The product comes as advertised; large storage capacity while being extremely portable and lightweight. What i was pleasantly surprised by is the actual storage space you with this hard disc. 1.4+tb out of 1.5 tb of total capacity is just awesome.

Got a little scratched product ( * Not noticeable in normal view and just 1 scratch so not complaining. Got this for 3100-3200₹. Storage capacity showing 1.37tb means rest of it maybe for system backup. Took 47sec to transfer 4.16GB data from laptop to drive through 3.0 usb. Happy with the product at first look. Let’s see kaise chalta h.. you can go for this under 3600₹ bcz no one is giving you 1.5tb at this range and remember 1.5TB means you will get less than 1.4 and 1TB means less than 960gb, That’s how it is 🙂.

Just got the product. Out of 5TB, only 4.5 TB is usable. Just started the bitlocker encryption. Will update the review soon..The product is very good. Faster. Portable. I did the bitlocker encryption. Its safe. Could be used only in windows when bitlocker encrypted. Previously I had an experience of loosing files when no encryption is done. When I removed the usb without safe removal, 1 TB of files got missing. Fully corrupted. Now in this 5TB, its very comfortable. More storage. So no worry of storage.

1. HDD box S/N is different than what hdd has .2. HDD box is ok but inside the box hard drives has to much scratches on the body.3. First time I connect this hdd with my laptop they show me drive but when I restart my laptop hdd drive is not showing I try to fix hdd with cmd but don’t workIf you want to buy the buy seagate hdd or WD passport or other but don’t choose elements one

You cannot be wrong when you trust brand like Western Digital for you digital storage needs.This hard drive is from the Elements series.- It’s fast, compact, and durable.- Read and write speed on the drive is decent.- The drive is silent and comes with a LED notification light.- It’s easy to connect and is literally a plug-n-play.- This drive can be connected to most of the digital devices with a USB port support.- Though it would be better if WD added a USB-C port.-The build of the hard drive is average as it is made of plastic but considering the price point at which it is offered, it seems reasonable.- It’s available in different colours but I like black the mostAll-in-all it’s a good product and I’m happy with my purchase.

After more than one year of using this hdd, I can say it does keep your data and files protected. I do make 4k videos once in a while and all my mobile is saturated with pics and data, I just transfer it to this drive. It felt like a big investment when I bought it but honestly, I haven’t even filled it halfway through yet and it is portable and looks and works like a great accessory !

If you’re looking for more storage space with a reasonable price and compromising on writing speed then this product is safer to chose. Disappointed about the storage capacity . As mentioned on product is should be 1.5 tb . But it is actually 1.36 tb .If anyhow u r selling 1.36 tb only then clearly mention this AS a 1.36 tb HDD . Don’t know the reason of reducing the memory. It’s feel like a fraud .

If we talk about the speed of this hard drive then I’m getting an average transfer speed of 65-70 Mb/s with the help of its USB 3.0 Cablel, which is the best. It comes with the WD Elements software where you can backup your valuable data and recover it whenever you want in case you lost it. Best for normal use and to keep backups. Not for heavy use. Data transfer speed is average dosn’t go lower then 60mb/ps on transfring any kind of data (Video,Game,Documants etc.). Quality of plastic on the hardrive is not so good. Hard disk can get demaged eaisly.
