I’m using LINUX MINT as my OS. This review is according that OS.IT worked well for couple of days but then I used to get disconnected sometimes then it got fixed automatically after the OS update. The range is fine and now I didn’t had any issues till now and it’s been like a year now and it’s still working fine for me. I use it regularly like every single day. So even after such usage there isn’t any issue so far.

The media could not be loaded.
Very small bluetooth adapter the nano size is good. When I tried to connect it with USB 2.0 port it lacks some audio quality. It should be plugged in to USB 3.0 port since it is a Bluetooth 5.0 device. It works fine. You can download the driver software for pc if needed. It’s also plug and play.

The product was easy to be installed. It automatically installed the required drivers and turned on the Bluetooth automatically after I log in to my desktop PC. Clear instructions were given where to get additional TP drivers for the product. Overall a good experience. The connectivity was also superb. I connected it with my 4.0 Bluetooth speaker, 5.0 Bluetooth ear pod, all working just fine.

TP link products usually work well…while longevity with continuous use may vary, but these devices are not intended for prolonged or continuous use..I have had multiple to link devices ranging from wifi adapters, routers, range extenders, etc..Now I have tried this Bluetooth adapter..Pros:-Minuscule size, you can keep attached to the device, not noticeableBut not recommended to do so..as it’s usually set to discoverable during setup and it has decent range..so if one is too skeptical, might lead to security issues.. although the hacker will have to be in the same house probably!Range is decent..works good in the same room..this kind of device is usually meant for local connectivity, usually without barriers…I use it to connect headphones to the PC and it works nicely for that..I earlier had a Bluetooth 2.0 adapter from enter and that worked well too, except for the range and bandwidth required nowadays has increased..so some choppy audio did occur with today’s high quality audios and that got managed with this Bluetooth 4.0 adapter..nice clean audio..Lastly, it works nicely with Linux..i use debian based Ubuntu..and its almost plug and play..I did have blueman Bluetooth manager installed from the previous adapter I had.. And when I plugged it in..i didn’t have to do anything else..So unlike what the site says, about only windows, it definitely works with Linux..I can’t say if the 5.0 version UB500 will work though…While installing the driver in windows, I noticed it was installing CSR stackAnd CSR original chip ( there are many fake ones) is known to work with Linux..so maybe that’s why it worked well..Coming to windows, i have win7.I had bluesoleil pre-installed, and it worked with it.Didn’t have to install any driver separately..But there is a driver available in their site for xp/7..In win8 and above, it’s supposed to be plug and play..So no issues there..Now the cons:-A bit high price than rest of the companies.. probably can improve on that….i bought it for 400Audio quality is good, but somehow, compared to my enter Bluetooth 2.0 stack..The audio was a bit muted..had to increase the volume higher to reach the same level of loudness..but even then, i feel, a slight reduction in the dynamic range of the audio.. no idea if that’s a software or hardware issue..encoding/decoding issue..It’s not very noticeable.. specially of someone doesn’t have anything to compare with..Lastly, the windows driver is 400 MB!granted it has both 32 and 64 versions..but each one is almost 200 MB!Thats way to big for a driver of these devices..Neither bluesoleil/blueman cross 30MB..So I don’t know what is being packaged in those drivers..Also, somehow the driver didn’t have a clean install in my system, something to do with incorrect loading of c++ library…It didn’t matter as I already had another driver installed..Overall a nifty little device.I have no need for 5.0 Bluetooth as i don’t have any device that requires it..I just needed a 4.0 adapter to solve the bandwidth problem..and that purpose is nicely served and that it works both in win and linux is very helpful..Does the job well, few consHence one star less..

Bought this specifically to use in my hackintosh running macOS Monterey instead of UB500, which is Bluetooth 5.0 as opposed to this dongle which is 4.0, and it works flawlessly using the BluetoolFixup kext (macOS doesn’t support Bluetooth 5 dongles). Previously was using a cheap CSR based Bluetooth 4.0 dongle from Enter, and while it was fine, the range was horrible and it stopped working within a year of purchase, and it wasn’t that reliable- sometimes it just wouldn’t work without a restart. This UB4A seems like it’ll last way longer and works reliably all the time. Range is awesome, I can walk around my relatively large room without issues with it plugged into the front of my PC. It looks unassuming, has no light which is a plus in my opinion- that way it doesn’t always call your attention. It also doesn’t cause any interference with a gamepad controller plugged right next to it. I tested it with Linux (Xubuntu) and Windows (8.1 and 11) on the same PC, works just as well. Just set it and forget it. No issues with connecting older devices either. I’d recommend the UB500 if you’re using it with Windows, but if you need something that works with a macOS, this is the one to get.

Everything works perfectly fine, there is no lag or audio delay faced by me (gaming or music)The only minor issue is that the audio starts distorting at the range >25 ft, which is considerable for a product of this size and at this price from a reputed brand.Overall I’ll give it a Solid 4/5

Using it to connect with ps5 controller on pc, no issues !
Using it for 2 weeks. Just plug it , install drivers and you are good to go ! Seem less connection with ps5 controller! Latency is very low around 1ms . So basically connection is even faster than wired connection (2ms) . But when I simultaneously connect airpods gen 2 the sound output was very weak , it was muffled! But it serves my main purpose with ps5 controller .Edit 20/03/2023- the sound from airpods gen 2 become normal when different output was chosen.

Good 5.0 adaptor but losses sound!
So, it’s been a month using this adaptor. Easy to install the driver just need to surf their website for this model. But the range is not that good and sometimes the audio doesn’t render properly idk why but it’s connected to USB 3.0 on my PC. Overall a good one for this budget.

The Best Bluetooth for PC
Here’s my review after 15 days of extensive usage. So here’s my initial impressions when I first opened the box and found this tiny device in it. On device, it had Tp-link branding on a side and Bluetooth written on the another side (Pic attached for your reference) and some paperwork.What was my purpose for buying this product?I own a Desktop which is almost 8 years old and it doesn’t have inbuilt Bluetooth. I wanted to connect my Mi Sports Bluetooth Earphones to my Computer which was not possible. So I searched for some products stating “Bluetooth for PC” and I found this.I read the ratings & reviews and was quite impressed by it and went ahead to buy this one. So now lets begin with some pros and cons.Pros:- Easy to install, Just plug into your USB port and it starts working.- Superb sound quality, No sound drops as such from my Bluetooth earphones- Very tiny and handyOnly 1 Con:- Whenever I move away from my computer, I experience certain sound drops despite of being in a same room.Firstly I thought its a manufacturing defect that’s why replaced with a new one but the problem still resist.Conclusion:I am using this product for almost 15 days and I am really impressed by the quality TP- Link has provided with less than 500/- Rs which is quite remarkable. This is the best product in its segment and no competition for it whatsoever. I would surely recommend to go with this product if your PC/ Laptop doesn’t have inbuilt Bluetooth. You can connect any device which has Bluetooth for eg. Phone, Bluetooth Speaker, Bluetooth earphones, etc. You can also transfer/receive files using this Bluetooth device.It was my first attempt to write a review. Hope you like it. Thank you.

***This is the Update MARCH**.I want to make a huge point to anyone who doesn’t get good distance, may I suggest purchasing either of the extension cables because they are what I use and they work great,FEDUS USB 3.0/2.0 Male A to Female A Extension Cable orStorite 2 Pack USB 3.0 Male A To Female A Extension Cable.I have my extension cable from the laptop USB port hanging from the tubelight and this increased my BT range to 25-50 feet radius. Only my kitchen work area which has 3 walls and 30 feet distance the connection intermittant.OnePlus Bullets Wireless Z Bass Edition (Reverb Red), Sony WI-XB400 Wireless, Anker SoundBuds Curves, Jabra Elite Active 65t, Tribit QuietPlus 72 Over-ears Headphones.Only the Anker has aptX connection.I purchased Anker SoundBuds AK-A3263011 Curves and this set has aptX, when connecting this headset the CSR Software recognized aptX. Is there a difference in SBC/aptX? I cant really tell in audio quality but the connection IS more stable. Also, I have not discovered a way to switch between SBC/aptX like Smartphones. It automatically connects as aptX.*******SOME HEADSETS may not work properly—>*******My Brandnew Tribit QuietPlus 72 Headphones DID NOT work well at all. It kept running in Handsfree (mono) mode.For comparison it sounds like listening to AM Radio Station. If you experience the same effectTHERE MAY BE A WAY TO FIX THIS*******—Before connecting your BT device—-Right click the BT icon–> Click on Bluetooth Settings–>Click Audio/Video Tab–> you will see SCMS-T content protection etc.. In the dialogue box Click the box to enable Connect to content protection enabled headset onlyNow hit Apply then Ok. Right Click BT Icon in Taskbar–>Add Bluetooth Device–.Audio/Video Device then Search for the BT Device…Now when you connect give it about 10 seconds–> then once connected it should provide the Stereo mode under Speaker icon in Taskbar. Once you disconnect, depending on any other Headset you will have to go back to these settings and Disable Content Protected device. For My ONEPLUS Bullets Wireless Z I have to disable or else they only connect in Mono mode.A very short walkthrough for connecting headset….Make sure the BT Icon is turned on – Blue color=On – White=Off in Windows TaskbarRight Click and will bring up table with headingsThe 1st is to turn on/off the BT Radio which is the TPlink BT dongle itself. (BT signal is radio transmission)The 2nd heading is for turning on/off Discovery (Transmit/Receive on/off)The 3rd heading is Add Bluetooth Device. when you highlight this it will bring up the table which showsPhone, Computer, Audio/Video device, Printer/Imaging Device, and Keyboard/Mouse, ALL.The 4th heading is Show Bluetooth Devices (devices that are Already Connected)The 5th heading is Bluetooth Settings (only for TPlink Bluetooth Dongle,not onboard bluetooth)The 6th and last heading that mine shows is About (this brings up the software provider and vers., there is no Update option here, we have to physically check the TPlink website for UB4A)I only use Audio Devices, I don’t have any other BT products so I am unable to test other than headsets.under Add heading go to Audio/Video Device left click –> brings up dialogue box to Select a device to connect with this Computer. at the bottom right corner click Search (make sure your headset is on and not connected to any other system/home theater/smartphone.Once the Device shows up you can sigle click on it then Next on bottom of page or you can double click. Either will connect to the device. Once it is “Connected”, give about 10 to 15 seconds for Windows to recognize the Connection. You will see what the options are in next description –>In the taskbar click the audio profile (speaker icon) Here there are 4 options that pop up for me —>(**Note-if you only see 2 or 3 then read the section above that says SOME HEADSETS may not work properly) TV sound, Laptop speakers, Bluetooth Audio Renderer (Stereo) and Bluetooth Hands Free Audio (Mono).Click on Bluetooth Audio Renderer (Stereo) wait a few seconds for it to comply.Now your headset should be connected.In watching Youtube I do get some lag but with different headsets the lag increases or decreases.The same with me using VLC or Windows Media Player. Sometimes if I stop the video app and restart then it will be no lag.I don’t use ZOOM,Teams,Skype, so I cannot test how the mic setup would function.Any one that has any input for this please use any or all of my post and add to it. This would be helpful to alot of people.*FIRST post* So for a few months I was using it strictly thru Win10 utilizing Win10 drivers and bluetooth connection page thru Settings/System. But a few times i tried to use with music streaming to Sony XB400 or Oneplus Buds Wireless Bass edition and there would be intermittant drops. Also when it came to pairing and connecting it would consistanly slow down my HP AMD A6 chipset laptop. Also anytime I took the dongle out it would also affect disconnect my thumbdrive. So I assumed it was a throttling going on with my USB ports. I have Sandisk Dual Drive, WD Passport, DVi to HDMI and Logitech dongle. So one by one i disconnected everything and left the BT dongle and it was a little better.So I checked the TP Link India site for any FAQ related. When I searched in the Downloads->Drivers section there was software driver present. So I downloaded, installed it and Win10 taskbar shows BT icon to use theBT Dongle. The Driver software is by CSR Harmony Wireless Software Stack Version 2.1.63.0.Once installed there are more options that can be accessed thru the BT icon in taskbar. The BT icon sits in the system tray as before. Audio transmission can be switched between stereo and mono. Also if your playing a video or audio file and you start the pairing process once connected there will be slight pause then it connects to the output in stereo. It works really well, I purchased a long usb male to female cable and now i have a little bit more increase in connection distance. I have not tried this for transfer of files. If and when I find a need to do so I will update.for now, at this price point it gives me freedom to connect my BT audio gear instead of purchasing a more expensive unit to give my laptop BT capabilites. and this is as small if not smaller than some thumbdrives. Oh and I also purchased a seperate QZ Powered USB hub for my drives. So the only USB devices connected are the Dongle, and the hub. Now when I disconnect the BT dongle my drives stay connected.I hope this information is helpful, I tried not to make it too long but it happened. If any questions arise please drop me a line and I will respond with whatever help I can give.

Its working fine but I observed a small flaw in it.
I had a windows 10 desktop with i3 processor 8gbram 1tb harddisk,we need to follow steps in the user manual and install driver’s first.Its detecting my Bluetooth earpods and working fine.It’s a decent product with good built in quality.A bit costly but we can go with the brand value.I observed a small flaw in this device. if we use 2 wireless devices i.e a wireless keyboard and earpods there comes the real problem,our Bluetooth connection will fail frequently and we need to reconnect.(I am using microsoft wireless keyboard, Boult earpods).Example,I connected my Bluetooth to my desktop, I am watching a other language movie with subtitles,I read subtitles slowly to understand the movie,so I need to pause it very frequently,then at this time my Bluetooth earpods made a hell of problem i.e Bluetooth connection used to get disconnected very often.Other than this if I watch the movie normally it’s working fine.

Had to tweak with the firmware a bit to make it work in Ubuntu 20.04, not an ideal purchase if you are just starting out in Linux, its a pretty common problem so finding a solution was easier.It hasn’t done anything wrong otherwise.Has a decent rangedecent latencyand decent speed.7.5/10

File Transfer rate is not that fast. Takes almost 15 mins to transfer 100 MB.
Pros:Works fine with Bluetooth headphone. Can connect to phone. No heating issues found till now.Con:I am not able to initiate file transfer directly from phone to Win 10. Need to open file transfer dialog in PC and keep it open to initiate.

TP Link is a reliable product.My windows 7 upgraded to Windows 10 laptop has no inbuilt bluetooth hardware.SO I used TP LINK UB 500 bluetooth adapter of which version is 5.0 to make it bluetooth connected.I used this to play music that are stored in my computer via bluetooth to my various bluetooth headsets neckbands and earpods. The speed is good. Minimum 20 feet bluetooth connectivity is maintained.

0.The Packaging is Nice and the Delivery person also polite.1.The Product is good and the installation process is simple just connect to Windows and it automatically detect the device and ready to go2.I purchased 5.0BT version and i don’t see any problem while connecting3.When i connect my Tribit xFree go headphones by BT it show latency of -200ms and every video i play the latency still there. I tried all the possible fixes for Windows 10 20H1 to reduce latency but no go.4.When i connect my WeCool Moonwalker Buds to the TPLink 5.0 BT the latency is -150ms still no goodi thought the games latency is legit in BT but latency in video-play is just Horrible

Bought this specifically to use in my hackintosh running macOS Monterey instead of UB500, which is Bluetooth 5.0 as opposed to this dongle which is 4.0, and it works flawlessly using the BluetoolFixup kext (macOS doesn’t support Bluetooth 5 dongles). Previously was using a cheap CSR based Bluetooth 4.0 dongle from Enter, and while it was fine, the range was horrible and it stopped working within a year of purchase, and it wasn’t that reliable- sometimes it just wouldn’t work without a restart. This UB4A seems like it’ll last way longer and works reliably all the time. Range is awesome, I can walk around my relatively large room without issues with it plugged into the front of my PC. It looks unassuming, has no light which is a plus in my opinion- that way it doesn’t always call your attention. It also doesn’t cause any interference with a gamepad controller plugged right next to it. I tested it with Linux (Xubuntu) and Windows (8.1 and 11) on the same PC, works just as well. Just set it and forget it. No issues with connecting older devices either. I’d recommend the UB500 if you’re using it with Windows, but if you need something that works with a macOS, this is the one to get.

This adapter is what you get the best in the market. Absolutely no connectivity issue. Ofcourse you’ll get other adapters at cheaper price in your local market but if you’re looking for a durable and reliable bluetooth adapter then this is the one. The only issue is that it says it can connect ps and xbox controllers but when I tried the bluetooth symbol just disappears from the notification panel. Just when you try to install the scp toolkit drivers it’ll say bluetooth drivers installed but wont connect the controller. This is the only con I found.

The product was easy to be installed. It automatically installed the required drivers and turned on the Bluetooth automatically after I log in to my desktop PC. Clear instructions were given where to get additional TP drivers for the product. Overall a good experience. The connectivity was also superb. I connected it with my 4.0 Bluetooth speaker, 5.0 Bluetooth ear pod, all working just fine.

I have been using this daily. At this price It has almost no lag whatsover…works fine with PC…range is not very great though…works fine in a 10×10 room with great clarity…pair it up with any BT headphones,earphones,neckband or even speakers. You can pair up multiple sound output devicesI have added one BT soundbar,one neckband and one headphones.All are working fine.I tried transferring files to my PC from my mobile but it falters…cannot be a choice for heavy duty work or file transfers but a very very good choice for music,videos or movies on You tube or Gaana,Saavn etc. At this price really its a small piece of wonder…Make sure to plug it in the Usb port of ur laptop or computer and then go to device and add this piece of adapter there…if your PC or laptop is not very old then Windows would automatically recognize the drivers and set it up,else you would need the driver CD or can download from their site(TP-Link official site) and then one can pair the laptop or thedesktop with desired pair of audio devices. I hope this much piece of information would be helpful to others. Its a good piece of hardware from a company which sells exclusively networking related products. So one can go for this.

I have installed this adapter on my PC which has AMD Ryzen 7, Asus PRIME X570 PRO CSM motherboard, 32 GB RAM, Asus 4 GB GTX 1050 graphics card and Windows 10. As soon as I downloaded and installed the driver, the bluetooth started working like a charm. The bluetooth icon came on the system tray which can be effectively used to pair and connect all my bluetooth devices, copy files from my phones to my computer or copy files from computer to phone. I have used my neckband as well as bluetooth speakers and the sound quality is awesome. Range is decent, but it depends on whether I am behind a couple of walls, when I can see a drop in signals intermittently. Overall I am pretty satisfied and would recommend this device to others.

File transfer speed is acceptable.3. Works with XBOX series X controller for 90% of the games.Cons :1. Not a true replacement for “Xbox Wireless Adapter for Windows 10” official Microsoft product.Consider this as the major con of the product, as though the controller gets recognized in windows and is playable BUT for “From Soft Games” like “Sekiro Shadows Die Twice” and other from soft games only one of the sticks works, the movement and the A B X Y buttons don’t register. With other games like Witcher 3, this works completely.To get truly wireless connectivity and compatibility with an XBOX controller for PC one should consider the original M$ product.

The bluetooth icon came on the system tray which can be effectively used to pair and connect all my bluetooth devices, copy files from my phones to my computer or copy files from computer to phone. I have used my neckband as well as bluetooth speakers and the sound quality is awesome. Range is decent, but it depends on whether I am behind a couple of walls, when I can see a drop in signals intermittently. Overall I am pretty satisfied and would recommend this device to others.

It took installation automatically. Thats it! and I could easily add my all devices including my Smartphones. But not able to exchange data and voice between PC and phone. Only I could dial a call from my PC for the smartphone but to listen and talk I need to rely on my smartphone only.

High gain is truely observed. It pull the network across the walls so effectively. Dont buy other chief product. It is plug and play, software or drivers nit required to install. It work as rapid as your system is. Cost is little high. Worth buying it. Go for it..

nice and easy option
using it with my desktop computer which does not have bluetooth connectivity. i am using it to connect Samsung Galaxy Buds Live TWS to the computer. it works properly till the second room but as soon as i enter kitchen, sound starts breaking. within the room, it works fine.installation was fast and smooth on windows 10, nothing was needed from my side.overall its a nice product providing good option in this budget. i have tried some local ones in the past but none of them worked this smooth. song sound broke even when i was sitting in front of the computer.

I recently bought the TP Link UB500 Bluetooth adapter and I must say it’s a good product. Although I felt it was a bit overpriced at 700 rupees, I’m quite satisfied with its performance. The Bluetooth connectivity is reliable and the sound quality is decent enough for my needs.What I really appreciate about this adapter is its compact size and ease of installation. It’s really easy to plug and play, and I was able to connect multiple devices to it without any issues. Overall, I’m happy with my purchase and would recommend the TP Link UB500 to anyone looking for a reliable Bluetooth adapter.

Used for connecting Bluetooth Neckband to laptop for office calling. Just Amazing!
I am very satisfied with this.My laptop 3.5 mm jack mic was not working for office calling. So i decided to connect Bluetooth neckband with laptop. But again my laptop don’t have Bluetooth. So i purchase this for office calling.and it works great. getting very good call quality. Rage is enough good. My work is getting done. Buy without any doubt.

Product is genuine, not generic crap
Most of the modems available in market are cheaper than this, but it is the only one with descent performance. You will not loose you connection in the middle.

Does what is says, using it on a 12 year old gaming pc with no inbuilt Bluetooth on mother board, i can connect bose speaker, controller, i/o devices (3) all simultaneously, good so farEarlier i had Bluetooth 3.0,which could do i/o but not speakers so got this one and it does good jobGo for 4.0 or 5.0 both are good

Very easy to install, connectivity is also good but sometimes while using Bluetooth earphones sound cracks also Bluetooth sharing is quite slow …..that’s all*Otherwise th product is very good*
