Very good performance for a SATA 2.5 inch drive with exceptional build quality compared to other drives at a similar price point. The drive itself is made out of metal and feels strong and robust also, the sequential read/write speeds are better than drives at a similar price at my time of purchasing (Kingston A400). For anyone doubting the brand, Kioxia is basically Toshiba, so no worry about longevity and reliability.Highly recommended.

Decent SATA SSD with TLC NAND
A decent SATA SSD with TLC NAND type memory, and you should avoid those QLC SSDs like Crucial P1, P2, Seagate Q5 etc. Always buy TLC+ DRAM(optional) memory type SSDs , they are better.

What i like:* at time of purchase (Dec 2020) it was the cheapest 250gb~ drive in stock* Great build – sometimes you get a nice brand name one which is made of rather flimsy plastic8 Excellent performance when used with SATA connection and USB 3 5Gbps dongle* mainly used for testing of Linux distributions and cant complain with performanceWhat i dislike:*nothing – its been greatGreat performing SSD. The brand was formerly Toshiba Memory Corporation, which was why i went for this brand over the others, as well as it being the cheapest in the capacity of range of 240/256GB.

Siempre he sido de otras marcas de SSD, no obstante, le he dado una oportunidad a KIOSIA y he quedado sorprendido. La velocidad de escritura y lectura que anuncias es real, por tanto volvería a comprar.Como todos saben, este tipo de disco duro es la opción más recomendable para darle una segunda vida a un portatil que empieza a ir lento. Se nota un montón la diferencia cuando enciendes, instalas o abres un aplicación.

Ordered this for an old laptop that took ages to fire up and was very slow. Installation consisted of following YouTube videos with no problems . It now takes about 30 seconds to fire and flies through all procedures. It’s a difference of night and day. Highly recommended!

Used this to clone/upgrade my Korg Kronos. Good solid drive. It has a sturdy metal case, great for coping with heat and vibration! It worked fine with my harddrive cloning unit and Gparted. Runs slightly faster than the old SSD. So far it is working flawlessly.

Lo compré para sustituir un Kingston A400 y se le nota en la velocidad. No es algo espectacular dada las limitaciones de los SATA, pero sí que se aprecia que funciona un poco más ágil que el Kingston.De lo mejor que se puede localizar en este formato, y con la garantía de Toshiba.

I am using the SSDto upgrade my lenovo ideapad 330 laptop. The installation was smooth and the SSD was detected by Win 10.I would suggest to download SSD Utility software from KIOXIA website. Helps to get details of performance related to SSD

I bought this Kioxia Exceria 240GB SATA SSD to replace the OEM 7200rpm HDD in a new / old stock Lenovo ThinkCentre M72e Tiny PC from 2012, which only has a SATA II interface. Still, I hoped that I’d see some performance improvment from the SSD, even though it would be limited to SATA II transfer rates.The drive is solidly built, with a tightly-manufactured pressed-metal casing rather than the plastic often found on budget (and even some mid-range) devices. It looks and feels like a quality product, which is impressive considering the price. Fitting it was easy, as it’s a perfect drop-in replacement for a 2.5″ HDD. Upon booting up, it was immediately recognised by the BIOS. Installation of the Ubuntu Mate 20.04 LTS operating system was brisk and trouble-free, confirming backwards compatibility with SATA II.So, has it improved the performance? Yes, it has… significantly! It has transformed a modest-spec, nine-year-old PC into a surprisingly zippy little machine (and a somewhat quieter one, too) that’s perfect for web-browsing, watching YouTube, editing documents and spreadsheets, and programming. I can’t verify Kioxia’s performance claims due to the PC’s SATA II interface limitations, but I can say it’s a darned sight faster than the old 7200rpm HDD. Time will tell whether it’s reliable, but given the obvious quality of manufacture externally, I’m quite hopeful.I’m sure there are better choices for those with a considerably larger budget, but all I wanted was a decent, inexpensive SSD to perk up my older-specification PC. This Kioxia Exceria seems well-respected, and does the job nicely at a very pocket-friendly price.

Put it into a windows 10 hp laptop to replace a damaged HD.I installed the ssd, Put the hp recovery flash drive in USB, pressed the power button and that was it. Didn’t take very long. Now it’s ready to go 15 seconds after pressing power button.Not as much space as the original but there are ways round that too.Excellent piece of kit for £25. Could have bought a larger one but wasn’t sure if there was any other damage as it was a drop that damaged the original HD.Well pleased

⚠️Muy importante actualizar el firmware del SSD para obtener buenas velocidades de escritura y lectura. Antes de actualizar el firmware la velocidad de lectura rondaba los 400MB/s y la de escritura unos 300MB/s. Después de actualizar el firmware en la pagina oficial de kioxia con un USB booteable, las velocidades han mejorado muchísimo, llegando a los 560MB/s de lectura y los 515MB/s de escritura.

Received today 22-05-2021. Install in my lenovo s145 laptop, replacing 1tb hdd. Easy installation. Read and write speed are good. We need to update firmware online. Having sdd monitoring software on official website, which will update firmware and also monitor sdd health.Itbis cheaper than other brand. Kioxia I previously Toshiba so name is enough for performance and quality.

Very simple instalation. Cloned my Toshiba laptop hard disc using Aomie Backupper free edition, took about half an hour, then swapped old disc for new SSD. Worked perfectly first tim and great improvement in speed. Delighted. Battery lasts longer too.

Brilliant SSD…I used to use PNY cs900 ssds when upgrading old computers from HDD… I came across this one (recommended by Steve at gamers nexus)… Bought two and was delighted with the results…. See attached photos… On the same computer, which is also running a Samsung Evo of similar capacity but double the price, it practically matches the performance… Slightly slower but you’d not notice it unless video editing…. For day to day word processing, photo editing, gaming, etc, it is the best bang for the buck you can get at the moment!… I’ve bought more since.

Easily swapped out my old HD on my PC and seamlessly replaced it with this SSD.PC picked it up straight away. Installed a fresh copy of W10 onto the drive. It took no longer than 15 minutes. Drive is very fast and bought back to life my old PC.Will definitely purchase more of these

Brilliant SSD…I used to use PNY cs900 ssds when upgrading old computers from HDD… I came across this one (recommended by Steve at gamers nexus)… Bought two and was delighted with the results…. See attached photos… On the same computer, which is also running a Samsung Evo of similar capacity but double the price, it practically matches the performance… Slightly slower but you’d not notice it unless video editing…. For day to day word processing, photo editing, gaming, etc, it is the best bang for the buck you can get at the moment!… I’ve bought more since.

Really well built, solid contruction, fast SSD. Bought to use as primary OS drive for a clean windows 10 install on a second user HP800. Works very well, very fast boot, shut down, app loading times. I cannot report on reliability, but it has been running flawlessly for a month now. Great.

Ordered this for an old laptop that took ages to fire up and was very slow. Installation consisted of following YouTube videos with no problems . It now takes about 30 seconds to fire and flies through all procedures. It’s a difference of night and day. Highly recommended!

O firmware tem de ser atualizado, tem grande impacto na performance.É necessário instalar o software SSD Utility disponível o site da Kioxia.Ter uma pen USB, no SSD Utility tem uma opção para formatar e instalar o software na pen USB.Reiniciar o PC alterar o boot na bios, para arrancar pela USB.Se as alterações forem bem feitas, apos reiniciar será visível os 3 pontos da foto que parece um erro, não é um erro, apenas demora algum tempo a carregar o software da pen usb, não desespere, apos uns minutos, aparece indicações, basta seguir.

Ya conozco este SSD de Kioxia y he de decir que es insuperable en relacion calidad-precio, no le doy cinco estrellas porque la caja me vino claramente abierta y con las esquinas en mal estado, habría estado mejor un mayor cuidado con eso, por lo demas muy contento con el producto

Very simple instalation. Cloned my Toshiba laptop hard disc using Aomie Backupper free edition, took about half an hour, then swapped old disc for new SSD. Worked perfectly first tim and great improvement in speed. Delighted. Battery lasts longer too.

Put it into a windows 10 hp laptop to replace a damaged HD.I installed the ssd, Put the hp recovery flash drive in USB, pressed the power button and that was it. Didn’t take very long. Now it’s ready to go 15 seconds after pressing power button.Not as much space as the original but there are ways round that too.Excellent piece of kit for £25. Could have bought a larger one but wasn’t sure if there was any other damage as it was a drop that damaged the original HD.Well pleased

Siempre he sido de otras marcas de SSD, no obstante, le he dado una oportunidad a KIOSIA y he quedado sorprendido. La velocidad de escritura y lectura que anuncias es real, por tanto volvería a comprar.Como todos saben, este tipo de disco duro es la opción más recomendable para darle una segunda vida a un portatil que empieza a ir lento. Se nota un montón la diferencia cuando enciendes, instalas o abres un aplicación.

Lo compré para sustituir un Kingston A400 y se le nota en la velocidad. No es algo espectacular dada las limitaciones de los SATA, pero sí que se aprecia que funciona un poco más ágil que el Kingston.De lo mejor que se puede localizar en este formato, y con la garantía de Toshiba.

I am using the SSDto upgrade my lenovo ideapad 330 laptop. The installation was smooth and the SSD was detected by Win 10.I would suggest to download SSD Utility software from KIOXIA website. Helps to get details of performance related to SSD
