Look at the chip lineup from Intel. It is staggering. After many hours and reviews. This chip and the 2120 gives you the best speed for dollar spent. If you are building a computer on a budget for internet and business apps. it is hard to beat. Graphics are not exceptional but good enough for most applications except gaming.

great basic htpc cpu. with video card, outstanding htpc rig, without video card, handles all but the most demanding videos. its for a budget build, not an idealized rig – but under that context, buy it.

I recently built a new home-office computer with the G2030 Pentium processor and the following:-
ASUS P8H77-M/CSM LGA 1155 Intel H77 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 Micro ATX Intel Motherboard

Corsair Obsidian Series 350D Performance Micro ATX Computer Case with Windowed Side Panel CC-9011029-WW – Black

Corsair XMS3 4 GB 1333MHz PC3-10666 240-pin DDR3 Memory Kit for Core i3 i5 i7 and CMX4GX3M1A1333C9
–
HGST Travelstar 2.5 Inch 500GB 7200 RPM SATA II 16 MB Cache Internal Hard Drive (0S02858)
– LG Electronics DVD- No video card (I am using the on-board video)As you can probably tell from this list, I was trying to build a very “cheap” computer. The total cost, not including the operating system, was 500 dollars. If I had used an i5 processor, it would have raised the price of this build by approximately 130 dollars. Obviously then, you can save a lot of money by purchasing the least expensive processor that will still get the job done. This new computer is replacing a nine-year-old office computer. It will not be used for games; instead it will be used for professional and academic software such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Project, Photoshop, drawing programs, math and statistics programs, system models, and proprietary science and engineering programs. For these applications, this Pentium processor works fine. For a gaming computer, I would recommend an Intel i5 processor instead of this Pentium. For video editing or animation you might be better off with an i7 processor.Since this computer will not be used for games, I did not install a video card; instead I am taking advantage of the integrated video processor in this Pentium. The on-board video is fine.CPU Cooling:To save money, I used Intel’s “stock” cooler assembly that was included with the Pentium processor. My other home-built machines use Corsair H100 CPU coolers (forced liquid flow coolers). Based on temperature readings, Intel’s “stock” cooler seems to work just fine (100 dollars saved!).This was the first time I ever installed the “stock” cooler. I am very glad that I watched some youtube videos before I tried it myself; it can be just a little bit tricky if you’ve never done it before. You might want to consider getting a tube of “thermal compound” (Arctic Silver 5 Thermal Compound 3.5 Grams) just in case you don’t succeed on your first attempt to install the cooler. The cooler comes with thermal compound already applied; but if the installation goes wrong, you’ll need to remove the compound and reapply a small amount of fresh compound. The thermal compound improves heat transfer at the point where the CPU contacts the bottom cooler plate. Luckily I got the cooler installed okay on the first attempt; but I had a tube of thermal compound just in case.

For its price?probably one of the most easiest CPU to ever install. thanks to intel for that. the CPU itself is very fast and very powerful. its no i5 but for its price its very well in performance. if you plan to use it just for internet surfing and normal task then the processor is godlike to you. you plan on doing a bit of multi-tasking, this cpu is for you. If you plan on doing a bit of Entry level gaming or photoshop or video editing it also does decent in that too. i havent tested its full limit yet but so far i played Metro 2033, Garry’s mod, Csgo, Goat simulator, Saints Row 3 and 4 on high with no problem 30+ Frames in 1336×768. takes less then 30 minutes to render a 30 minute 720p 60fps video in sony vegas. its not very well in today’s very demanding games though. the most demanding you could probably play would be Metal Gear Solid Ground Zeros and Alien Isolation, Battlefield 4, Watch dogs, and Assassins Creed IV on low. but it makes a very well budget CPU paired with an entry level graphics like a Nvidia GT 640 or an AMD R7 250 for other needs besides normal. i wouldnt reccommend installing anything higher then a GT 750 (not TI) or a AMD Radeon 7770 because it would bottleneck it. (is GT 640 User with 4GB of DDR3 RAM and 1TB HDD) if you’re looking for a 64 bit great business PC, or gateway to a starter gaming PC, or even just simple uses this CPU would probably fit your needs.

If You Really Wanna Know –
I purchased this as a minor upgrade for a comp I built for a friend, the old cpu was Celeron g540. After replacing the old with the new(this thing) there wasn’t much difference. The OS booted about a sec or 2 slower, guess it was the introduction of new processor. It rewrote the entire boot system. It undid all setting that were preorganized, never had that happen before. SO after going thru and resetting everything back the was it was and a reboot, start up was about a sec longer, some thing seemed to work a bit better/faster. Comp rating before and after gave a .6 increase cals per sec and a .6 increase to graphics. At least the games got better lol. It just depends on what you are coming from if you are upgrading that’s makes a big difference or if you are trying to slowly build up to something better. I didn’t expect much but got more than I expected to see out this product. I’d recommend this for anyone trying to start on a new I-core system or just want to experiment on building a system for the first time. I give this 4 stars

This is a great Ivy Bridge CPU from a value standpoint, which was why I bought it. Compared with my i5-2500K (Sandy Bridge), overclocked in another system, there is a more noticeable performance hit than I would’ve thought, but the price was right. The only cons I can really come up with are: the stock HSF is only okay (worse fan than on my i5 and no copper in the base) *and* this CPU in particular is a bit overcosted for what AMD’s low-end system options are these days (honestly, very respectable APU performance now).Just so you know, some games may struggle more with this CPU than you’d ordinarily think. For example, Skyrim seems to run happily enough, but most of my other FPS games tend to struggle a bit (or at least perform inconsistently, since a smaller buffer makes for more unpredictable performance “hitching” in gameplay). StarCraft II wasn’t very close to 60fps either which made me kind of sad as well. I will inevitably have to upgrade to a i5-3570K or something of that sort to be fully happy with the PC it’s in, but this is a good stopgap for now.

In relazione al prezzo a cui viene venduto è un missile. Per l’utilizzo casalingo, office, internet e video va più che bene, inutile spendere di più. Se dovete fare encoding video o vi interessano videogiochi di ultima generazione ci sono prodotti migliori.

Beats the i3 in price/performance ratio. Runs everything I throw at it in normal desktop Linux and Windows operation. Won’t dazzle for games (latest KDE seems to work acceptably well however), but for the price you can get a very capable general use desktop for not a lot of money.

While this is obviously insufficient for heavy computing tasks, I’ve put it into a medium level gaming system, and it zips right through the difficulties of home computer use. It plays 1080p video, keeps the framerate of dwarf fortress up, and generally seems to handle the stuff I’ve thrown at it.Unless you’re doing high resolution media editing (photoshop, sony vegas, etc) a bigger processor is probably not much use to you.

Wanted to upgrade to a motherboard with newer features, and have a stable platform for Win 7 install.I’m not a gamer or PC gear-head, so why spend money a lot of money on a processor? With the video card I have, it should work fine for most of my apps.

The motherboard on my old AMD system had died, and I needed to get a desktop up and running for my work at home job, I decided that it was a good time to switch over to a system capable of housing an i5 or i7 processor. Money was tight however, so I bought this CPU as a stopgap solution, and honestly, I’m really surprised how well this little guy performs. It’s not the best choice for gaming, but paired with a beefy graphics card I was able to play a majority of games without too many problems. Obviously CPU instinctive games won’t like this processor, but I was pretty surprised what I could run. This is a good processor to use if you need a budget PC build or are wanting to start an i series build. The only issues I had was installing the heatsink, maye it was my board, but I had a little trouble getting the cooler to fit in the holes. Once I got it fitted, it was good to go. In short, this is a great budget CPU for those who want a basic PC for everyday tasks like internet and work, or for someone who is tired of their AMD build and wants to cross over to Intel.

I bought this chip for a budget gaming build and I am very impressed with the capabilities of this processor vs its price. It’s on par with the 4th gen i3 yet it has a very modest price of about $56. Rated at a 6.9 in the windows experience index. Coupled with the right graphics card you can play the latest games at high specs/resolution without any problems. Loading screens may take longer compared to an i5/i7. Some CPU thirsty games may not like this chip but so far every game I’ve tested (Watch Dogs, Wolfenstein, Metro, Skyrim, Starcraft 2, Far Cry 3) all work just fine. Highly recommended if your building your own computer and you dont want to spend $200+ on a processor right away. This will certainly bridge the gap.

This is a good processor but a little slow but faster than my DG33 FB, why I made the purchase. Heatsink comes with thermal paste already on it so you don’t have to fool with that, what a relief. For video processing I don’t think this is the processor to get but for my needs, working with photos and internet, it is fine. I haven’t found the image trails with this processor that I had with the DG33 FB, when moving the image around.
