Been using it for past 2 years, no problems so far, but you should know that i use it only for storing datas or installing apps and games. I don’t use it for downloading or moving files. I make sure that reading and writing are at minimum because SSD comes with limited read and write.I use this ssd for its speed and final storage.I keep external HDD for downloading and consistent read write, delete, copy paste stuff.So please dont go around complaining that i used it for 2 years, while others didn’t last for even a year. It depends on usage.

Amazingly lightweight SSD
Product is delivered without any damages.Lightweight SSD, ease to mount on the place of HDD slot in my Dell Vostro 14 laptop.When i opened the package, the SSD box was found at the bottom of package 📦 below the protection papers ball. 😂 Whoever packed it, he is surely a drunk guy.Although the product is delivered safely and it’s running well with 30mbps speed with my 4gb DDR3 ram.I am happy with the product. For now it’s running buttersmooth than the HDD.Hopefully it should run the same as it is now.

I like Crucial products.This 2.5″ SATA III BX500 480GB cost me about ₹3.4k but I observed that it goes below ₹3k. If you get BX500 480GB at less than ₹3k then it becomes value for money product. Otherwise its cheap because its the OLD model SSD from Crucial. The latest model costs around ₹4k-₹5k the MX500 model. I only find a difference in total available storage around 50-60GB (most probably), total TBW (endurance) higher TBW in MX500 series than BX500 and the M.2 SATA III form factor.If you have a very old laptop with HDD and want to make that faster then must buy BX500 2.5″ SATA SSD.If you need SSD for frequent storage (i.e. data write) and don’t have a NVMe support then go for MX500 2.5″ form factor (in place of HDD) or M.2 SATA form factor (if M.2 SATA slot is available and also check for maximum size of supported drive).If you have an NVMe support and have ₹4k budget then go for Crucial P2 or P5 SSDs which is far superior than any SATA SSDs.Still confused? Read carefully.Have an HDD then don’t worry, it will support SATA SSDs.Have an M.2 slot then check if it’s SATA or NVMe, and then buy.

Decent SSD.
I have attached screenshots of the CrystalDiskMark benchmarks. This is a review for the BX500 240GB variant. Have labelled the screenshots so that you can tell which one is from the enclosure and the laptop. The enclosure used was the Transparent Orico SATA to USB enclosure that supports UASP. Tested in the enclosure first just to be sure that the SSD was functioning before I put it in the laptop. I had doubts as the SSD box was bent and the SSD was curved as there wasn’t any protective packaging. Fortunately it was working fine.The laptop used to take a minute or more to boot with its Hard Drive. Now it boots up under 20 seconds. App launches are quick now. The overall system feels very snappy.One interesting thing to note in the benchmarks is how the write speed is much lower when tested with 16GB. The SSD has 13GB of SLC cache, so as soon as the cache is filled, it has to start copying data into the TLC storage, which is why the speed tanks. If your workflow often requires you to copy large files then you might wanna look elsewhere. Otherwise its fine.Overall, I am happy with its performance.

Fast Boot
I use this as my primary Windows boot drive, and it performs seamlessly for gaming, particularly running Genshin Impact with smooth gameplay and no noticeable lag. While transferring files, I’ve observed a minor hiccup where data is copied at a speed ranging from 150MB/s to 450MB/s when moving from HDD to SSD. However, if you’re transferring files internally within the same disk partition on the SSD, the speed exceeds 560MB/s.

Low performance but excellent value for money SSD
+ This is a low performance value for money SSD as long as it only costs ₹2300 for 500GB+ Peak write performance in real world is around 350 MB/s+ Sustained write performance (100GB+ of large files like 4k movies) is only around 60 MB/s+ Read performance is great at 350 to 500 MB/s+ I saw many screenshots claiming 400+ MB/s of write speeds but please do understand that those speeds will not be sustained for long writes like 50 or 100+ GB of files. I can say this after working with 2 500GB and 2 250GB drives for over a month copying large files.+ But as I said, considering the price this drive is an excellent value for money, best use case for this will be archiving data, external disk drive, or as a substitute for pen drives.+ Not suitable for boot drive/OS drive or as main drive for installing programs and games in high performance systems

Entry-Level SSD Upgrade
It’s a decent upgrade if you’re transitioning from an HDD to SSD, especially for an OS drive. However, if you’re eyeing a significant speed boost, consider going for an NVMe instead. The BX500 gets the job done, but if you’re after a more substantial performance upgrade, an NVMe option might be more in line with your expectations.

pros :– (1) speed around 540 read , 530 write (2) boot time changes from 57 seconds to 20 seconds (3) now my laptop is faster than before (4) crucial ssd is one of the best ssds it can even compete with samsung ssdcons : — (1) plastic body is not durable as metallic, hope crucial will make new ssd with metal body in this price range (2) cloning image software provided by the crucial is not working , it fails twice . then i use different software , hope it will get fixedNOTE :— GO for 240gb as price is quite comparable with 120gbit is good ssd you can go for it !

Adding this gave me the speed up that I expected to boot up my old laptop. I am happy about that. But the service personnel blew up the cloning software that came on ssd. It would be nice to have a download link.
