After a lot of research and reviews I made my choice to buy this particular model. 2.5 inch 1tb hdd. I am using it in my acer nitro 5 an515 45. The thing I don like is the packaging. It didn’t even have bubble paper. Hdd was inside an cover and placed inside an plastic box but when received it was out of that box. But hdd cover was not tampered so didn’t return. And after installing all the steps followed from acer website my hdd didnt showed up in my laptop. Then booted to BIOS and checked and I could find my hdd 😁 now again rebooted and went to harddisk partitions and found the hdd in unallocated format. Then followed simple procedure to create the new hdd with new partitions. Viola it’s now accessible and usable. Using Avertek wesite downloaded tools to check the hdd health and info and found to be “pass” and info is same as printed in the hdd. As of now no issues and problem. Let’s wait and see 😁👍

Recieved the product in good shape and immediately installed it in my ROG Zephyrus M15. It was very easy to install. Note: Avertek doesn’t provide a screw to mount the SSD onto the slot. Luckily, the laptop manufacturer was kind enough to leave a screw in the empty PCIe slot which I used for installation. The available memory was 931.5 GB and I could configure it without any problems. I’m a heavy gamer and installed many games graphic intensive games like PUBG, Microsoft flight simulator 2020 onto the new drive and it was really smooth to play. It has more than enough speed for gaming. I feel this is a better option than the overpriced Samsung 970 and 980 Evo series. The read and write speeds are higher than Crucial’s and WD’s SSDs.

If you want to save your data and then read at fast speed, then this HDD is for you at low cost.But If you want to install windows 10 on this HDD, then you will face lag issue. Becausethis drive is not made to handle much faster write speed. Also if you planning for RADthen it’s not for you because in RAD config, lot’s of write operations is there.This HDD is SMR, SMR is best to store data and read any time. If you planning to install windows then go for CMR HDD.You can identify SMR and CMR HDD drive by looking Cache memory, if it 256MB then it’s a SMR and if its cache memory is 64MB then it’s CMR. Remember less cache memory doesn’t mean it’s slow, CMR HDD are faster then SMR HDD. Advantage of CMR HDD is it’s both read and write speed are equal in Avertek its around 180MBps.Look in image, Benchmark show its read is 161MBps but I bet you will also get 190MBps speed.write speed in benchmark is 156MBps but you will not always get that much speed, write speed is near about 128MBps.Final word, It’s good HDD but only for storage/Archive.

Good hard drive for adding additional storage to your PC rather than as a system drive i.e. boot drive. The operating system or the drive where windows is installed will write small amount of data very frequently to the drive and a drive not designed for such use case will sustain damages to the drive and may not last longer. Use an SSD or a faster hard drive that uses CMR technology for boot drive and then add more storage with this drive.

I am using this SSD specifically for installing my games and I have to tell you the loading times have decreased by a huge amount. This also helps in reducing stutter in some games although any SSD would do that trick. If you want a high speed SSD under a budget don’t think twice just go for it.

So far a good product..If your laptop is slow and you are thinking to change it consider changing the hard drive to ssd.I have 7 yrs old Dell vostro3546 laptop working perfectly but from past few months facing issue and damm slowness tried formatting it as well but didn’t workout.Ao consider changing the HDD to SSD.And as I thought its again started working like a charm…

After reading a lot of negative reviews I was not confident of buying online. I finally took my chances and bought the 4TB variant. Product was well packed and worked on 1st boot.Immediately put it on extended 7 Hrs. diagnostic test to check for any bad sectors. Lucky enough to find NONE.Read speed during tests found to be 100-150 MBPS. Write speed is 60-80 MBPS.This is decent for a desktop drive considering the amount of storage you getting for price. Good VFM.This is not for gaming, although you can run games from this drive but loading times will be higher.Skip this HDD and buy an SSD if gaming is your preference.

This drive was slightly cheaper than the other ones in the market (about 100 RS). In terms of performance, it wouldn’t be any worse BUT this uses the older CSS(contact start stop) tech to park the heads on power loss.This design has lower start/stop rating (50k vs 300k ) and is more vulnerable to abrupt power loss. Not saying it’s a terrible drive but just be aware of this fact when buying it.

HDD is decent, value for money. Offers a good amount of storage with fair read/write speeds.Fits well in any modern PC case. Connects with 1 SATA Power and 1 SATA cable that goes into your PSU.HDD arrived in good health, with no bad sectors.The 6 Gb/s is a false claim. Read/write speeds are what’s expected from a 5400RPM HDD. Quite consistent, but it’s not 6 Gb/s (see attached image for speed test).Overall good product but horrible packaging from Appario.

Is this an original product? because it is a 5400rpm drive but the package says otherwise, I have some doubt that is this a original or refurbished product, who knows. Working perfectly until now, but making squeaking noise now and then while running, well that is a matter of concern. I have already returned 7200rpm Avertek drive that wont even start, then when I looked up to try that product again, that product price got 900rs. more within a day, so I ordered this one. Avertek’s qc is getting little low I guess.

I’m not going to comment about the transfer rates since there are a lot of reviews for that. I’ll tell tou this: Its is good for the price but note that its an older model (ST2000DM005) which is 5400 rpm and has a 256mb cache size. the newer 1 ones (m006 or m008) are better. With m006 having 64mb cache and 7200rpm and performs 10% better while the m008 has 256mb cache and 7200rpm. I got this because it was significantly cheaper so a 10% performance hit wouldn’t matter. Besides, I’m using ssd for the os and important programs so if you too are going to have a similar setup and find this one a lot cheaper then go for it or else consider the others like i mentioned.P.S. The packaging was pathetic.

The hard disk has a nice form factor and is slightly thinner than a WD 1TB harddisk. I also checked the disk in harddisk dentinal and came out fine. Though, my problem was the lack of proper packaging. While the drive was undamaged, I cannot say that about the packaging. It came with only a flimsy plastic box and the outer packaging was not even a proper cardboard box. Except that the product is as good as advertised.

First Product:The packaging was not good, for a fragile product no extra protection was provided apart from a thin layer of bubble wrap. The drive started to provide clicking sound at the first install install. The drive was also not getting formatted properly. The format will stop saying “The format didn’t get completed properly”. Also after each restart of computer, disk management was asking to Initialize the drive every time with an error message as “The drive which does not exist is specified”.Second Product: Got a replacement, this drive came without any damage and this drive was shipped from haryana. Product is great value for money.Please check and return the product once you find its faulty.

Yeah product is good but the package doesn’t provide you the safety, during the transportation hdd will get damage 90% internally, by seeing outside you can say there is no damages, but internal the parts got lose , it will be miracle only if its run 1 year ,Only few hdd delevered nicely , i hope they will provide good packaging

If you have an old laptop and it doesn’t have any m.2 port then you must buy this. It’ll make your laptop runs faster than before. It will boot in just 3-5 seconds and also applications load faster. No lag issue came since I installed SSD in my laptop.

Initially the product i received was not working, cause after installation of drive pc was stuck at boot up screen & not booting up. Then i applied for replacement & second drive which I received was working fine no issues. Drive is good for installation of large games, but after installing around 10 games it gets full, so suggest if you are a person who likes to store games, then go for 2TB 7000RPM DRIVE.

The disk is from well-established brand in HD segment. So, no issues there. Easy to install. Works fine. My issue is, the SATA data cable was not provided. The seller must provide a data cable. And that is why three stars in value for money and overall rating.

Bought it on 13-11-20 for 3,749 INR. It cost an additional 800 INR to get it installed inside my laptop. The cardboard package in which it was delivered was wet (monsoon season) but thankfully its contents remained dry. The hard drive was inside a hard plastic outer cover and a grey, transparent inner cover. Minimalistic but functional packaging. I checked its warranty using the hard driver’s serial number on the Avertek website. Regarding the performance of the hard drive, I was concerned about it after reading a couple other reviews here but haven’t faced any issues so far, it’s been performing quite well, even better than the HP hard drive it has replaced. Will update if I run into any issues.

First of all, I would like to tell you that the hard drive came in a plastic case and there was no bubble wrap or any kind of protection for shipping purposes. This really gave me a shock and I thought that hard drive would not have survived its journey. But luckily, the hard drive worked just fine. I am writing this review after 6 to 7 months of usage. Already I can tell that the hard drive works really good. I am using it to backup my data. Please note that the hard drive can be used for the operating system installation but is not recommended and will lead to shortening it’s life. I use it along side a 250gb m.2 nvm express SSD (model A2000).The hard drive provides adequate data transfer speed. It is also darm easy to install in the hard drive 3.5inch bay of a normal ATX cabinet. The price that I got this for is 4999 Indian Rupee.Overall, I would recommend this hard drive to everyone.But if you want more redundancy, than look of a Avertek ironwolf NAS drive(network attached storage drive) with a capacity of 4 tb. It would cost you around 10000 rupee so the price to storage ration remains constant.The picture included is the plastic case that I got the hard drive. The hard drive inside it however is a different one as I have installed the 2tb Avertekhdd in my pc cabinet.

There seems some problem in windows 10 when HDD connected internally. Of 2 partitions, 2nd one could not be accessed for formatting. Had to return for replacement. This time did not connect internally. Bought a sata to usb hub and used it. No problem encountered. One thing: Initialise HDD with GPT and not with MBR. Because firt partion is 1.99 tb.Gaming : did not try.

Bought this drive for Rs-3455/- only, retail shops are selling it for 3500 to 4000 here. Since it is a 5400 RPM 2.5″ drive don’t expect world class performances, it works fine for storing data and playing games that don’t require fast storage device, it’s an HDD not an SSD afterall. You can easily play any multiplayer games without any issues but GOD of WAR 2018 and Resident Evil series loves fast storage devices like an SSD because these type of games loads the map on the go so on an HDD whenever the game loads the map you will face huge LAGGG. But its not a Avertek problem it happens on all HDD so keep this in your mind before buying and please pair this HDD with a 250-500 GB SSD and install the OS on the SSD for optimum performance.

Got for 2399 mint fresh Oct 2020 mfg.As another reviewer has written that Adata Su650 has 2M hours of Op btw failures (officially) but this Avertekhas only 1M …..but that is wrong, the official statement for this model is 1.8M Hours in the description and secondly I have had Avertek500GB HDD for 10 years now and it has been used quite rigourously and finally it is failing after 33000+ hours of usage while the official stats was only 20,000 hours.From personal use and given Avertek’s rep and experience, I would prefer the tested and experienced. Avertek also gives a free tool for monitoring etc..At a given price range all SSD’s would perform for the similar period of time with similar speeds……speeds dependent on other factors as hardware, usage etc.So cost, experience, preference is all that matters really.

Delivered at time. good packing. received at good condition.original product. mfg.date – jan’2023. checked with Avertekco. says warranty upto 2025.Available space is 931GB out of 1TB. 70GB is already occupied.If system is BIOS booting. on installing Windows10pro, it shows DRIVE (0) partitions & can’t install. need to convert to MBR format before install. its done.speed seems to be normal.best for storage other than OS. But its works fine without any lag. Good to go.recommended.

The product is good. Fast enough data read and write. But the only drawback is that they doesnt provide mounting screws. The mounting screws are so hard to find. I had to disassemble an old SMPS to get mounting screws for the same. Received a used product initially. Seller replaced with fresh product.

Bought it for my ASUS Tuf gaming fx505gt, adding to my 512gb SSD. It was easy to install and is delivering good speeds. Ideal for storing photos, movies, shows, or stuff you don’t want to put on your SSD. Can even be used for gaming if you’re playing light older generation games. The packaging was a bit sketchy but I got lucky and received it without any damages, not sure if it’d be the same case for everyone.

They provide old hard discs that are already out of warranty, and when you register, you find out about it. I assume these hard discs are good, but we never know what can go wrong with old stock. It was actually difficult for me to go through the replacement process with Avertek and the lengthy waiting period.

When received the product I haven’t got it tested due to SATA cable shortage and postponed testing this product. But when I tried that attaching in the computer after a month I arranged the SATA cable, this HDD doesn’t work for me and I have got 2 years warranty of this product so I am going to in touch with the support of the product and let’s see if they can help me in that case or not.Comment For Seller: It’s your responsibility to ensure the working condition of any product before sending it to the buyer. In my case, you haven’t tested the product from your end and sent me a defective product which isn’t good for your sales and reputation. I got the product replaced by the company not feom the seller.

First of all, I got the package on the promise date itself. I was not at all satisfied with the way the HDD was packaged because it was torn and was slightly damaged. Anyway, no visible damages on HDD have been found so far.Some of them have mentioned that they got a refurbishment or non genuine product. So, I visited Avertek website for checking warranty. I entered my serial key and found that the product is genuine. But the warranty period is only 1 year. In the product description, its given as 2 or 3 years.Now about the product. I have installed it. No problems so far. Did a chkdsk and found no error. I’m getting an average write speed of 100MBps and above. Will update after some week.Thanks for reading.

I ordered this and got one which seemed faulty. My PC already had one WD 1TB SATA disk and I wanted to add one extra drive as my backup drive. The first drive that came was not working properly. I tried to troubleshoot and saw that many articles are suggesting to check the power and data cable. I knew that there is no issue with my motherboard as it is already detecting another SATA drive and all other SATA ports are enabled. So, I swapped the power and data cable without any success. I ordered a replacement, it was delivered to me on the next day; I connected to my PC with same cables and it started working like a magic. It gives you 1869 GB of effective storage, which I think is great in this price range.

My TUF Gaming FX505GT laptop came with a single 500GB SSD. My uses were primarily gaming, coding and watching movies/series. As expected, I soon ran out of storage and decided to get a 1TB HDD.It was super easy to install and got working in one go. I’ve using the HDD for the past 11 months now and have not faced any issues. I place the games that require a lot of fast loading and online games in the SSD and the rest in the HDD, and so far the combo has worked perfectly.Would recommend.

The Hard Disk was just thrown into a big box along with some brown paper.If bubblewrapping is too much to ask, Atleast you could’ve wrapped that brown paper around the Hard Disk, rather than just placing it aside.I don’t know how many times that Hard Disk would’ve toppled inside the container.For now it works great and no issues and worth the price, but internal physical damange could’ve been there due to poor packaging which might lead to the Hard Disk failing much sooner than expected.10/10 for the Hard Disk which I got at 3.9Kgreat value.But 3/10 for the packaging.Please improve it, atleast for fragile devices like a HDD.

This is my first time using an SSD. I updated my 5 yr old laptop with this. It’s really fast. Boot up speed is roughly around 10 secs, I have never counted it but sometimes it feels even less than 10 secs. Laptop feels snappy. I saved buying a new laptop by upgrading the old one with this SSD. Now it feels better than new. I do regular work and not much gaming. It gets the work done pretty nicely. I replaced my HDD with this SSD and mounted the HDD with a caddy in place of my optical disk drive(which I almost never use).

People are rating 1 Star for their foolish ness. Drives over 2 TB needs GPT Partitions to format properly.This is how you setup HDD over 2 TB.[IMP] – Most of the cases Windows have a Master Boot Record (MBR) as Default. It uses the standard BIOS partition table.[IMP] – GUID Partition Table (GPT) disks use Unified Extensible Firmware Interface (UEFI). One advantage of GPT disks is that you can have more than four partitions on each disk. GPT is also required for disks larger than two terabytes (TB).You can change a disk from MBR to GPT partition style as long as the disk contains no partitions or volumes.The DRIVE is only good for storage purpose and not for active read and writes. Its only 1.6 GigaBit read write.

Avertek is always best.After sales, when it comes to customer service – Avertek is always the best for last 15years in Chennai to my knowledge. I have never faced issues with Avertek while replacing the drives under warranty. Five years ago, I’ve replaced a drive where it’s warranty is going to expire in two days, still Avertek has replaced it without causing any delay/hassle – amazing support from their team as always.

It heats up a little after exploitation of 1-2 hrs. I think heating is a thing which is not good for laptop Otherwise everything is ok.. I got a good speed when transferring data.

I bought this for my Acer Nitro 5 laptop which is 3 years old. The laptop came with a 128 gb Sata M.2 SSD. I was not sure whether this Avertek NVMe M.2 SSD will work for my Laptop, but i took a chance and it works well. The bench mark test shows 2300 MBps read and 1050 MBps write speeds. Though it is faster than the orginal Sata M.2 but i did not find any considerable change.Anyways i wanted to upgrade the storage size of C drive as 128gb was not enough.Overall its performance is good. No complaints. But should have tried the Crucial or Samsung brands.

I have an Acer Nitro 5, i5 8th gen, GTX1050 with 1TB HDD. Basically only the hard drive speed was the issue with my laptop as I joined a WFH coding job. Every task from installing software to running IDEs and browsers ate up significant time.Decided to go for the 500GB model for peace of mind. You can blindly go for a lower capacity one if you’re only going to be installing OSes (yep multiboot Linux distro users, I see you) on the SSD.Definitely worth it on a sale, the speeds aren’t going to vary too much between different brands in this price range.

Warranty received is 1 year 4 months as per the Avertek website, instead of 2 years since its manufacturing date is old. May be it is due to pandemic. However, hard disk is working properly. If you planning to buy a hdd for gaming donot think about it , i bought it to keep extra files in it so that my ssd performance should not get effected. If you ask me buy 512 gb ssd for gaming and other software usage it will be worth you spendings and keep harddrive to keep other trash 😅

i got the HDD today, but unfortunately, the HDD packaging is not that good . but i hvae installed the HDD (you just need two screw and 1 power and Sata cable thats it ) then from my PC >>> manage >>disk management >> then initialize disk and Format in GPT style that it then make the pertion a you got your drives ..

Packaging by seller was not good at all. Upper hard shell plastics was broken, inside it was properly packed in a plastic which was company sealed. Its little fast then the stock harddisk which comes along with laptop.

Previously I was using an HDD which had the rpm of 5400. As you can imagine it was pretty slow. Initially it was just a few random stutters here and there but the problems started occurring way more than I expected.That’s when I switched to an SSD, and believe me when I say this, it has drastically improved speeds, loading times, boot up process, and any other function that requires disk usage.Q. Is it good for gaming?Ans. Definitively, ((given you have the right hardware))Q. Is it good value for money?Ans. I tried to wait out for a sale and managed to get this at Rs 5100. Your mileage may vary. But at this price segment you won’t get anything better than this. There is an option to go for crucial or WD blue sticks. All of them differ slightly but the read and write speeds are best on the Avertek One.Q. How do you install it? ((Is it easy to install?))Ans. It is very easy to install. First you locate your M.2 drive slot. You remove the screw already threaded in place. Carefully take out the drive from the packaging. Insert the SSD in the M.2 slot at a 45° angle. Once it’s in, slowly lower it so that you can screw it down. Be gentle don’t apply too much pressure.[Try to be in a static free environment. If you don’t have any equipment that you can use to ground yourself then just go outside and hug a tree. It might seem funny but it does the job.]Final review.Q. Is it worth buying it?Ans. Go for it. Good harddrive.. speeds ranges from 20mb/s to 250 mb/s. While copying from ssd to hdd i got 250 mb/s max speed and while transferring from hdd to hdd i got usally an average of 50 mb/s.. it wont disappoint you go for it..

Biggest issue is the screw for installation. Avertek should provide it. Don’t migrate or clone os to ssd but install a fresh one beacuse if u clone or migrate u will only get 60-80% speed. Overall performance of laptop which had oy hdd previous increases by 50% and smoothness can also be noticed. If u have more budget ho for Avertek Firecuda or 510 which will give more speed. My laptop was Lenovo Ideapad S145-15IIL. Suggestion:- If u want to know whether ur lenovo laptop will support ssd then simply schedule a call at lenovo and they will help.My boot time with hdd:- 60secs – 2minsBoot time with Avertek :- 3.5 Sec and even less(my boot code got corrupted somehow which is easy to fix).For gaming this ssd is not too preferable but go for Samsung or 510 or Firecuda as they are faster. But U can definitely enjoy many games in this ssd.The 500gb varient gives 2300/900mbps speed and the 2TB varient gives 2400/1800mbps.

It’s working good so far, by looking at the other reviews i decided to use this as my secondary external storage device, it’s build quality is a little bit weak compared to my other Hitachi hard drive, i initially wanted to get Hitachi hard drive but i couldn’t get it anywhere online so i went for this Avertek hard drive even though it has bad reputation by other reviewers. i tested this drive with some tools and it doesn’t show any errors so far and no unusual sounds from the drive either, since i know hard drives can die out anytime only time will tell how long this will last.p.s- my Hitachi hard drive lasted more than 7 years as a primary drive, it doesn’t have any errors and its still going strong. 😀

It heats up a little after exploitation of 1-2 hrs. I think heating is a thing which is not good for laptop Otherwise everything is ok.. I got a good speed when transferring data.

Avertek Hard drives now a days became worst in quality that suddenly fails resulting in data loss. Many years ago Avertek was sturdy and durable. I had hard drives for 10 years of this brand without issues. But now failures rate are high than other brands. Suddenly it fails and become useless. All data lost because of these crap hard drives. If not 10 years, Hard drives must last atleast 3 to 5 years. But Avertek is just a crap in durability. Don’t rely on these hard drives for your valuable data.

The HDD works Fine but I’m not happy with how it was packed. There were no Cushion at all, No Styrofoam, Bubble wrap or airbags. It was simply put in a cardboard box with its plastic cover.I was expecting the seller to pack it with full of cushioning.Thankfully the HDD works Fine.

If you are a normal user like browsing, watching movies and other light softwares user then this will not cause any problem for sure.But if you are a heavy software user, gamer, graphic designer, video editor etc like this, then this is not right choice.This is QLC based and might cause problem later.Between TLC and QLC Nand, TLC is better in every way.After I received the product I researched about TLC and QLC Nand.And voila! I returned it today.Gonna buy TLC Nand. Will cost me 100 more but worthy.

My laptop was so slow during startup but the boot time is less than 3-4 sec. The program laging was solved. Perform search very fast. Best part is I am using it in my dvd rom slot using caddy. The performance will increased when it putted in the pci express 1 slot 😻😻😻.I am giving this review after 5 months of usage.

One of the best value for money product from Avertek, I thought that the ssd is not correct, then I went to computer stores for comparision, compared with WD ssd, HP, samsung, Kingston ssds. They sell sata m.2 ssd on 5000, HPs nvme ssd on 6500, what would I tell about samsung and kingston, both them are skyrocketed on prising. Also compared on online computer stores, they are little 200,300 cheap but last they include tax on it and make it more expensive, lastly thought, chalo kharid lete hai, kharab hoga to wapas ho jaega 😅😅.. But gajab gajab, best in class, used QLC nand chip, speeds are such nice, tested several times, no issues in large files transfer, speed are constant. Best 👍

Does it’s job as per the item description.Usually provides consistent 180-190 Mbps while writing.This can be used as secondary storage for gaming PC where you can keep Media and Game setups.Prefer SSDs as installation drive as this drive is 5400RPM and will show some loading time if used for game instalations.

The Avertek 1 Tb drive ST1000DM010 is performing really fast after cloning the HDD of an old desktop. It gave an instant overall performance boost and breathed new life into the Desktop PC. It’s now happily running Windows 10 21H2 the fastest ever in this machine. Happy computing and online learning for the kid who uses it.

First of all, I would like to tell you that the hard drive came in a plastic case and there was no bubble wrap or any kind of protection for shipping purposes. This really gave me a shock and I thought that hard drive would not have survived its journey. But luckily, the hard drive worked just fine. I am writing this review after 6 to 7 months of usage. Already I can tell that the hard drive works really good. I am using it to backup my data. Please note that the hard drive can be used for the operating system installation but is not recommended and will lead to shortening it’s life. I use it along side a 250gb m.2 nvm express SSD (model A2000).The hard drive provides adequate data transfer speed. It is also darm easy to install in the hard drive 3.5inch bay of a normal ATX cabinet. The price that I got this for is 4999 Indian Rupee.Overall, I would recommend this hard drive to everyone.But if you want more redundancy, than look of a Avertek ironwolf NAS drive(network attached storage drive) with a capacity of 4 tb. It would cost you around 10000 rupee so the price to storage ration remains constant.The picture included is the plastic case that I got the hard drive. The hard drive inside it however is a different one as I have installed the 2tb Avertekhdd in my pc cabinet.

Being an SSD Drive, please do not defragment this disk. It reduces the life of the disk. Actual size comes to only 440 GB. This is being used as OS ops disk and needed to be freshly installed. Worked smooth as a whistle.

It really helped speed up my PC . 2 year old Ryzen 3 laptop was very slow and did upgrade the RAM first to 16 Gig which didnt help . It was taking almost close to 2 minutes to bootup and opening up the apps also was pretty slow .bought this SSD and now the laptop is really fast ; takes less than 20 secs to bootup .

Well even though Avertekis a trusted brand, I was a little disappointed this time. The hard disk arrived on time but the shock proof package was left unsecured and the hard disk was bouncing all over the place. And its not just this once. I had also ordered a 3.5 inch disk for my desktop seperately. They both arrived with the packaging loose. Its quite good luck that the hard disk survived such a harsh journey. Hence the reduction in stars. Its working fine as of now.
