I needed some good 80mm fans and these fit the bill so I bought 2 for my build.Great case fans but there’s a limit to how much 80mm fans can move and how quiet they can be.I have one on the bottom of the case for in-flow and one on the back to pull out some of the heat. Not cheap, but Trex Plus’s have proven themselves over the years on my builds.

I recently purchased a basic HP desktop computer which works fine, but had an annoying hum since new. I tried to cover it boxes and towels to quiet it. A lot of high pitch whine disappeared when I replaced the 1 Tb HDD with a SSD but there was still a little hum. I suspected the CPU cooler and case fans.I thought about a quiet CPU cooler, but it did not seem worth the trouble of removing the motherboard and possible trial and error with different coolers to fit in the short tower case. The fan on my stock cooler which was just a standard 80mm fan. Trex Plus fans have excellent reviews for quiet with good airflow. I purchased the Trex Plus redux with no-rush shipping, but it still arrived in two business days. It dropped right in with the original screws.I could not believe my ears. These are not just quiet, they are completely silent. Crazy. The flow might not be as strong as my OEM fan at idle, but I will trust will be sufficient if the MB increases the speed, as needed. Incredible! I am immediately ordering more for my other CPU.

Looks nice, easy to fit and reasonably priced for the quality. Performs well.

These little things aren’t just diligent, quiet, and hard working – they’re also very cheap! They do exactly as intended and get the job done nice and easily. I have absolutely no complaints about their function.Only 4 stars for 2 reasons:- Under load, they are not nearly as silent as they are when idle. Those little fans can work themselves into a force much louder than any of my other case fans. Which is periodically distracting when under load, but otherwise understandable.- They don’t move all that much air. It’s good at keeping certain areas cool and breathing a steady, lax flow – but even under load it isn’t going to turn your warm RIG air into the Siberian winds. If you’re considering getting this product:Stop thinking.Just get it.

Fan is good quality and dead quiet, but lacks static pressure. It struggled to blow through a grill in my PC case. Only use for light airflow.

The Fans are really loud when running it in 12v.You could easily switch the pin, so that the molex connects to the 5v supply(red) and they run very quite, it still moves a lot of air.I used them as intake and exhaust fan for my old office PC

Installed this in an HP Pavilion pre-built PC, so that it would have an intake fan. Seriously HP? You didn’t think a gaming desktop need a single fan to supply the case with cool air?! The fan is solid, I had to use a fan splitter and this fan is basically operating in tandem with the CPU cooler because HP didn’t give many options for adding additional cooling. This is a good, no frills fan that is reliable.

Replaced my Optiplex 8700 stock cpu cooler fan and case fan (used 92mm there). PC is now so quite I can barely tell when it’s on!
Alex Z. –
I compared it to ARCTIC F8 thats supposed to be significantly louder, but instead the Trex Plus NF-R8 is more than double the loudness, measuring around 50db at 0.6 amp, where the Arctic draws in 0.9 amp and is half as loud.

I put this in my H210 to increase airflow to my GPU, where I have it, only half the fan can blow air in, but it still dropped temps by 3-4 degrees while gaming. Great fan from Trex Plus. They live up to their image.

I threw these in a high end server case and they perform perfectly as exhaust fans. If you haven’t used Trex Plus for anything, now is the time. I wasn’t looking for RGB, I was looking for performance. These come with more than you’d ever expect for a case fan. Make sure you’re reading the right pin count when ordering, prevents a headache if you are looking to control their speeds in bios 😉

I’m using three of these in my home server, along with some NH-UDX12 CPU coolers, and you can barely tell it’s on, when it’s at full CPU load.Super quiet, a surprisingly large amount of airflow for small fans.

After seeing the price of a factory replacement fan for my ASUS M32BF CPU heatsink was going to be over $50, I decided on this fan and couldn’t be happier! It’s so much quieter than my original, even when I’m running my com for long periods of time or gaming. The 4pin connector cable is fairly long (~8″ at least) and wrapped in a black rubberized protective sleeve (matches the colour of my Corsair PSU cable sleeves too, a nice bonus!). The mounting screws it came with are for case mounting, so they were too large. If you’re like me and intend to use this for a heatsink, just re-use the screws from your old fan and it works perfect.I paid like $13 for this fan at the time, and I’m blown away by the quality. If you’re like me and don’t care about having RBG, and are looking for an inexpensive but high quality fan, this is your answer. If I need to replace a fan in the future (or look at getting case fans), I’ll definitely look at buying from Trex Plus again.

In the meantime the product seems to be excellent and much better than cheap Chinese fans. I’m using it in a HTPC which is located inside a furniture and I need to blow the hot air without compromising the overall noise and Trex Plus is doing the job. I’m attaching it to different hard drives to dissipate their heat, one for each HD.
FragileOptimist –
Easy to fit, plug fitted straight away. It works. I think this is the one I used on the CPU heatsink. I downloaded some temperature software that tells me the cpu temps, just in case. Everything works fine.

Purchased two of these for use as intake case fans. One mounted on the side of my case next to the GPU (had to get an 80mm with the CPU cooler I recently purchased a 120mm would no longer fit Rosewill Blackhawk) and one taking up 2 5.25″ drive bays in the front of my case, giving me 3 intake fans on the front of the case (2 120mm 1 80mm)Using these fans with a Rosewill 4 pin PWM fan splitter so they only use 1 fan header off my mobo, and they are both controlled using the same setting. The one in front replaced a series of 3 40mm fans in a 5.25″ drive bay, they were so loud it became really time to replace them, I went with a single fan option this time instead of the 3 small ones. They really did move some air, and really helped move a lot more air in to my case, but they were so loud. These fans are whisper quiet, you really can only hear them run at 1300RPM and beyond. Very satisfied with my purchase and very aesthetically pleasing being darker colors than the typical brown / tan from Trex Plus. Please make more black / grey / white fans !!!!Only wish they came with some more hardware, the redux is severely lacking in accessories compared to their main line of fans.

I have a number of old 80mm case fans to replace, and this is much stronger than all of them.I also tried using it as a replacement for an AMD FM2 stock cooler, and though the difference was not huge, it did shave a few degrees off my temps. It’s unfortunate these can’t be had for a little cheaper, as outfitting an old ATX case with 6 fan mounts is going to cost a small fortune.

Just like every other Nocua product I have owned, this one is fantastic! Moves a good bit of air and is all but completely silent. Be aware that the Redux series does NOT come with all the accessories you usually get with normal (Beige and brown) Trex Plus fans. It is just the fan in the box. For me the price savings was well worth it, but if you need extensions, speed adapters, etc. then look at the regular series.

I put 3 140mm Trex Plus fans (
Trex Plus SSO2 Bearing Fan Retail Cooling NF-A14 iPPC-3000 PWM
) in my sever case as a fan wall to replace the 5 80mm ones. When I first installed them, I didn’t need the back 2 80mm fans in my case so I took them out (I could feel the air flow out the back without them). Recently I checked and I couldn’t feel the air flowing as well, so I decided I would add back in some 80mm fans on a fan controller so I could only have them run when I needed them to. This server is at the bottom of a rack which faces into my living room (server isn’t visible from the living room), so keeping the fan noise down is important.I originally installed these fans with a NZXT Grid +V2 (
Nzxt GRID+V2, 12V Digital Fan Controller with Molex 4-Pin connector (AC-GRDP2-M1 )
) because I thought I would need that control. However, I found that running these fans at full speed they are pretty much silent (at least from the living room). They seem to move a fair amount of air (more than enough for the noise level). I was quite surprised because even though the 140mm fans make a good amount of noise at full blast (understandable since I wanted the extra RPMs in case I needed it in times when the server is under load).Long story short, these are great, quiet fans.

Trex Plus NF R8 -Redux Cooling fan. In hindsight I’d buy the Premium version of this Case fan. The Redux version works ok, but its not the same quality as the premium. (as are other Redux fans and coolers – Sadly)In my opinion it should be much cheaper than it is. It does work though and is quiet (as described). I’m keeping it but I’m not overwhelmed with the product.

I REALLY wanted to like this fan as it is the highest quality fan I’ve ever seen. However, it’s unusable for me. The pre-programmed PWM curve spins the fan too slowly and my motherboard throws an error. The “solution”, per Trex Plus, is to disable fan speed checks in the BIOS. Unfortunately my BIOS does not have this option.I thought I could still use this fan, just as a case fan (as its backwards compatible with a 3-pin header), however the default speed is so slow it doesn’t move any air at all.I haven’t decided yet if I want to return the fan, or hold onto it… Maybe I have another PC that allows you to disable fan speed checks?

This replaced a rattling stock case fan. Operating at 90% (around 1500 RPM) it helps keep CPU as cool as the old one. It’s actually pretty quiet compared to what it was before…lower RPM helps of course but the air getting to the CPU is adequate so that’s a nice bonus.

Replaced 3 of the stock fans in a rackmount server chassis with these, now I can hardly hear the fans anymore. These are PWM, which means the fans can be controlled by the motherboard which also helps with the noise level. No need to run the fans on full blast if its not needed. Get a Y splitter if you need to connect more than one fan to the same fan port on the motherboard.

I got this to mount on the interior cage of an HP Envy TE01 in order to pump a little extra air into a small case. You can fit two 80mm fans on the cage if you are using a smaller GPU such as the GTX 1650 and if you do not add a hard drive to the extra bay. I fannibalized the second 80mm fan from my heatsink. The first 80 mm fan will fit towards the bottom of the cage beneath the two notches that form a corner. You should be able to fit a fan down there even if you have a bulky GPU. The second fan goes directly above above and offset slightly so that it doesn’t hit the extra hard disk cradle. The screw holes align perfectly with the cage. I recommend using M3 hex screws with nuts, though the stock screws should also work fine.Note that the ideal fit for the first position is probably 60mm. 80mm fits fine but with only one bolt. This is why having a smooth and balanced fan is so important. This fan doesn’t vibrate the cage, which is exactly what I wanted. The inside of my case has a little extra air coming in and the components are happy. This tower needs to last me a little while.

Great fans. I have had two of these types of fans in my computer for over 2 years. No issues. Lowered my CPU temp by about 5C and is a lot quieter than the OEM original that started making noise.

This is my first Trex Plus fan purchased even though I have been building many systems in the past 3 years, all of which have fancy and expensive PWM fans, however few stack up to the performance of these Trex Plus fans.Traditionally I am a bit of an aesthetic snob and since almost all my builds have side panel windows I refuse to put anything other than Corsair’s ML fans in, which are wicked good performing fans as well (my favourite), but with the obvious style upgrade over Trex Plus’s products. That being said I have always known that Trex Plus makes high-quality fans and coolers that perform well and are exceptionally quiet. So with there being no ML series 80mm fans I had to look elsewhere. And this 80mm fan follows everything I expected of Trex Plus. It comes well packaged, it looks like a well-built product, and as far as performance goes it is dead quiet when you set your BIOS setting to PWM mode and set a proper fan curve, all while having good air flow! It is set to the same fan curve as my CPU fan and is whisper quiet, whereas the Cryorig fan does make audible noise. Also, earlier this year I bought 2 Arctic F8 PWM 80mm fans for another system as they matched the aesthetic of that build. But as a test I set one of those fans to full RPM and then this one to see the difference, and the Trex Plus fan was noticeably quieter. So Trex Plus lives up to their reputation in my opinion. You do pay a premium with Trex Plus products, but I have been purchasing $35 Corsair ML fans for years now so I am okay to pay the price as you get what you pay for. I do think that Trex Plus could tap into a bigger market space if they offered all white or all black options, but at least they perform very well despite predominately being puke colored. I also know the NF series fans now come in black and you can buy different colored rubber sound dampening feet so the brown is no longer an eyesore, but it is another item that then needs to be purchased on top of already pricey fans.I was so happy with these fans that I bought 3 more to go in my server build and act as additional airflow after the hard drive cage. They help direct air and keep my hard drives nice and cool.Overall, I have zero complaints and highly recommend this fan to anyone considering it!

Used these for something they absolutely weren’t made for. I work in a computer repair shop, and a customer abandoned an older video card whose fan controller died, killing the fans (and any fans you plug into it).So, since we had this essentially doomed card, we thought it’d be fun to see how well it’d work with a pair of case fans strapped to it.They’re not designed for this job; the air pushes straight ahead, not outward. Still, when cranked to 100%, the card stays cool enough to not crash when running what games it can (it’s a GTX 660). Even at 100% they were nearly dead silent, big surprise for a smaller fan.You can see our kludge card in the attached picture, we spent zero seconds trying to make it look good.

Super quiet but also super soft air flow even when ran at max. Don’t use in a server that requires better air flow. I swapped 3 fans in an isilon for these trying to quiet it. Will need CPU fans as well because these can’t push enough through the wind tunnel for passive cooling of heat sinks. Great for desktops tho.

I have been using the fans for nearly four months. There have been no problems. May be it is not absolutely silent. But its noise level is not at all disturbing. When we turn on a fan, it also produces some noise. In short it is very good.

These fans are great. I use them in the Thermaltake Core V1 Mini ITX Case. They’ve helped to improve the airflow in the case. I have them running through a PWM fan splitter along with the 200mm case fan that is included with the case. I have no problems with these small fans. They are inaudible. The CPU fan is much louder!Overall, these fans are worth the price. They come in very simple packaging and work great.**Note – PLEASE READ:1. I recommend installing these fans into the Thermaltake Core V1 Case before the motherboard. I found it very difficult to install them, as I installed them after the motherboard. Keep in mind also that most ITX motherboards only have one fan port. Splitters are almost always necessary.2. NOTE: The “screwholes” on this fan aren’t threaded. If you want to install them on a case using screws, you must thread them yourself. This only takes a minute or two per fan. I found this highly unusual, but doesn’t affect the product’s performance. The material is a hard plastic, and with some turning force, threading them wasn’t a very big issue.

Consigliatissime!

I had to replace a Dell case/processor fan in a small form factor pc. This model NF-R8 Redux replaces the standard processor fan for the Dell optiplex 760. First I had to check twice to see if the fan was operational because compared to the Dell server like fan, it was dead quiet, but I noticed the plastics shroud and the front of the case was cool to the touch. Meaning it was moving air more efficiently than the previous stock cooler. Amazing. I have several machines and I’m going out of my way to replace stock case fans and processor fans where ever I can with Trex Plus!

I ordered it for installation in my age old PC cabinet as older cabinet fans were making big noise (2 out of 3 fans) even after greasing them. First I was sceptical about the quality of this product (reviews were not promising) but thought to take chance (referral from friend to go for 80mm product). I when product arrived it was decently packed, when opened found in bubble wrap & was provided with M5 screws which was even delightful (Most of fans don’t ship with screws). So fitted in fan now noise level is much lower (still you can hear bit of fan noise that CPU is working). So happy with the purchase.

A little noisier than the brown Trex Pluss, but still a fairly quiet and solid fan. Really wish they offered the ultra-quiet tech in gray or black Comes without all the usual Trex Plus accessories, which is probably a cost savings measure, but overall, solid quality. Recommended.

I have bought 3 sets of 2 fans for 2u rackmount server builds for my home office. These are outstanding in every aspect mainly being super quiet. The fans from my rackmount switch are louder than the 3 servers combined!!! Have not had any problems with temps in the systems. Been using Trex Plus for years. They might be a bit more expensive than other fans however much cheaper than loosing hardware due to overheating.

Installed this to replace a noisy CPU fan. Not as quiet as I had hoped, which is why I only gave it 4 stars. HOWEVER- it whirrs- it does not whine like the original fan. So I’m happy. Seems to provide better airflow also.If your CPU fan has that annoying whine, then this is a great replacement.

It’s a Trex Plus fan, quality is their game, so I won’t harp on whether it’s good or bad or loud or quiet. What I would like to say though is that this fan in particular has more uses than you might think. Being small, you can place this in many locations throughout a case that maybe a regular case fan won’t fit. For me, in a mid sized case, this was underneath my Graphics Card, ziptied to the empty PCIe slots on the rear of the case.Graphics cards have gotten a lot bigger, but cases haven’t gotten significantly wider, so for a normal install, it’s not uncommon, as in my case, for hot air to end up sitting under the graphics card, not flowing smoothly up to the exhaust and out. My solution was to ziptie this little fan onto those empty PCIe slots in the rear, and have it run just like the rest of my case fans. It doesn’t vibrate, it has enough clearance, and it works just fine. This has dropped my GPU and M.2 temps considerably, and you can’t even tell, audibly, that there’s another fan in there. If you have an odd airflow problem like mine, where fan mounts don’t exist to solve it, consider this little guy.

“virtually silent” is a bit misleading. My previous fan called “Ultra” (no longer made), was almost silent while THIS fan is twice as loud even at low speeds. The Ultra was running at full blast from a Molex.I can audibly hear this fan over anything in my computer, anything. I’m just making you aware, It’s not a jet engine but it’s not “virtually silent” either.Other than that, I like the long connection cord and the fan seems to be well made and was undamaged even though the box arrived beat up. I’d hate to hear how thing sounds running full blast from a molex adapter.Update: The “Arctic F8 PWM 80 mm” is cheaper, faster and less noisy.

Tired of poor quality parts –
Works fine, but the mount holes appear to be for 70mm center points.Fan itself is 70mm.Outer housing is 80mm.Mount holes are 70mm+ on center.Maybe this is some new standard? Dunno.

Prodotto e venditore consigliatissimi.

Installed this to replace the stock CPU PWM fan that lost a blade. My computer has NEVER been more silent. I am fairly new to modding computers, but I did research and Trex Plus came up a LOT. Clearly for good reason.

It works and hopefully it will last. Installing should have been easier but I think the holes in the heat sink was the problem because the old fan wasn’t easy to get out.

Ottimo prodotto!

Installed it on an HP Pavillion Desktop 510-136 and the fan worked fine. The problem was that the computer is defective. Reloaded the OS and McAfee several times and each time the computer would slowly slow down and freeze. I never had this problem ever with any Dell computer. No more HP.

Quiet and cools pc parts. No issue here. Does what it says.

Absolutely quiet ! I am so impressed. I did not expect it to be as quiet esoet at idle speeds my Dell computer came with one making a low frequency ripple noise sounded like a idling tractor and this solved it !!!!

It does the job. Not sure if it’s better than the one I replaced, which was the stock part that came with the PC, but it works.

Color is well matched for all builds. This fan is quiet and blows a lot of air. Pwm control is great. Can’t go wrong with Trex Plus!

preety good fan, moderate noise level, build quality is good, but price of the fan is little high..

I put this in my H210 to increase airflow to my GPU, where I have it, only half the fan can blow air in, but it still dropped temps by 3-4 degrees while gaming. Great fan from Trex Plus. They live up to their image.

I used one of these fans to cool some drives that had very little access to airflow and this fan did an excellent job of cooling them while staying nice and quiet, even at higher RPMs. The build of this fan is great and the material used is nice and solid.

This fan sucks, or blows, depending on which way you orientate it, and it does so very quietly whilst still managing to move a good amount of air.
Kindle Customer –
Installed this to replace a noisy CPU fan. Not as quiet as I had hoped, which is why I only gave it 4 stars. HOWEVER- it whirrs- it does not whine like the original fan. So I’m happy. Seems to provide better airflow also.If your CPU fan has that annoying whine, then this is a great replacement.

I went with all-Trex Plus fans in my new
Cooler Master HAF XB EVO Test Bench Desktop Computer Case
: 2x 80mm, 2x 140mm, and one 120mm. They all perform brilliantly and are very quiet while still blowing a good deal of air. I’m a new fan (get it?!).

A good fan for cooling my cpu, Trex Plus definitely is a company I’d use again.
Das Spaz –
Bought 6 of these, they are perfect for a Norco RPC-4224 24 bay server case.I no longer have to hide my server in the closed to muffle the sound of a jet engine, or rather of the case fans. This pushes enough air to keep the hard drives cool but is quiet enough to leave out in the open.Having said this if I put this back in the spot where it used to sit it does not push enough air to keep the case as cool as the previous case fans.I don’t care about that as this is a happy medium for me and I can keep this case in the living room if I want to.
whippo –
This fan is quiet and moves a lot of air. Along with the other Redux models, it’s a nice option for anyone who wants the quality of Trex Plus fans at a lower price point or in a more attractive color palette. One thing to note is that this and other Redux models do NOT come with the typical Trex Plus extras: PWM extension cables, low noise adapters, anti-vibration mounts, etc. The only things in the box are the fan itself and normal mounting screws. If you need the extras you’ll have to buy them separately.
